View Full Version : Oh hello!
Hey there everyone!
Gosh, it's been so long since I've done a welcome thing, it's hard to know what to say! Um... I'm Anne, and I was referred here by Lance. I live in the US of A, California to be exact, San Diego to be more exact. I love the color pink, I'm an entrepreneur, and I help run a parrot rescue organization. I'm married, with no kids unless you count the pets.
As for gaming, my oldest system is a Colecovision, my newest is a 360, and I have a bunch in between, mostly because I don't have the heart to get rid of them. You never know when the urge to play some Nights into Dreams or Mario Cart might strike, you know? :D I'm currently playing FFXIII, which is interesting because I haven't played any FF games since they were on NES.
Soooooooooooo... nice to meet you all! I hope we become the best of friends.

Hey there Anne! Welcome aboard. I haven't played any of the Final Fantasy games myself, but I have considered buying them, as some friends of mine highly recommend them.
Anyway, enjoy your stay! :)

Welcome to MG, Anne - glad you found us - just for referring you, I'll give Lance some of the antidote. If he refers another three friends, he might just live to see Christmas. :D
Thanks everyone.
Lance, you're welcome for helping you get antidote.

Parrot rescue? Awesome. Though, I can't really think of too much that a parrot would need rescuing from... except pirates... if your job was to rescue parrots from pirates I would worship you.
... that aside, welcome!
Thanks for the welcome. :)
Parrots suffer the same as cats and dogs... abuse, neglect, etc. They are as smart as a two year old human and need just as much attention, which many people don't realize when they get them. And when the needs of a parrot aren't met, they develop horrible behaviors, like screaming and even self-mutilation. It's actually pretty rough.

And yes, I will definitely be on the lookout for pirates. :D

I suspected it'd that sort of rescuing. It's a cool thing to do... but I'm still kinda disappointed that you don't sail around on the ocean saving parrots from their evil pirate masters :(
I'll mention adding that to our mission statement at the next meeting for sure.

Hey there, nice to meet ya. I have heard about some of the psychology of parrots before, mostly because I'm an insomniac and never turn off the TV. Can't say that I've ever met anyone that does that sort of thing though, so that's something new! A friend of mine had a very jealous one which used to try and bite me all the time because it thought of itself as her mate. I'll stick with goldfish. :)
