The Halo Reach BETA is unlocked today, for those lucky people who still have a copy of Halo 3: ODST or a BETA code they can play it :P

If anyone wants a game when its on post here, I'll be dling it as soon as I can :)

Do let us know how the beta is - the multiplayer has a lot of new features, and I'll be interested to see how they all work! :)

The game is pretty good, feels a bit different compared to past halos, and has defo had a graphics upgrade. However the servers were plagued with what we all recognise as epic fail, and stopped working properly. Eventually, if you waited a good half hour and no one joined your party you could search for a game, and then have to wait again. My stats ended up not saving over removing about 1000 credits and 4 pieces of armour I'd purchased, which annoyed me also.

Hopefully it'll work fine tommorow though :P

Yeah, with it being a beta, there's going to be all kinds of problems to start with. I can only imagine the load on those servers tonight! :p

I reckon you're right - it'll calm down over the next few days. :)

Well it's pretty good and I didn't have too many problems, I did get pwned like crazy for about an hour before I rage quit. :) I'll be back.

Has been working fine all day today! Absolutely brilliant game. The connections are smooth, a brilliant job by the network engineers. I'm playing in virtually lagless games against Swedish, Americans and Australians for once in my life!

Graphics are slightly better, however it runs at 30 FPS which makes it blurry, as well as there already being motion blur. However, it's a brilliant game. If your able to download the BETA (still owning Halo 3: ODST) I recommend you do so and play it :P

That's good to know. The game was always going to sell by the bucketload regardless, but it's good to know that they're at least making some progress with the game as well.

How are you finding the new features?

The more I play through it I'm less impressed really. Sure the graphics are an improvement and yes they added some classes of spartans with different abilities, but I'm not too blown away by the abilities. Some of the new weapons are pretty good, I especially like the long range needler. It seems like they took Halo 3 and are adding some customization from MW2.. not saying it's bad, but after a few hours of play I was bored. Hopefully, and most likely, there will be a lot more happening on the final version of this in the fall.

They of course will get my money either way because I love Halo too much to ever sit out a game.

I didn't have any technical problems today, it ran very well.

Yeah. I want the Invasion game mode ASAP, constantly playing Spartan vs. Spartan or the occasional Covenant Slayer is boring me a bit now :P

I've been trying to earn some points so that I could add the new armor, but I haven't really seen a big difference in my performance. Have you gotten into this yet?

Yeah, I'm on 10,000 credits now. I don't think armour actually improves your health etc, I think it works better with certain loadouts, e.g Stealth.
