View Full Version : Xbox 360: Borderlands, anyone?

I've now got the X360 up and running, and I'm looking for some games to kick on and have some fun with online. Borderlands, whilst being dull in single-player, is a riot with 3-4 players, and I can only imagine it'd be better if you all know each other.
Anyone got this/wanting to try it?

yeah bro I've got it, I'll play with ya. Of course we are in quite different time zones.

timezones schmimezones. When you work shifts, day and night come to mean very little. :p

I still haven't got it yet either. Probably won't until next month either... just planning ahead with my purchases. :p

I'll get it once I can get it under 20 € :D

Same here, I think. It's currently roughly £25 here at the moment, but I'm hoping that'll drop a little soon - anything below £20 and I'd snap it up - I rented it a while back and it was great fun in a group - not so much on my own.

It's really frustrating to wait and wait for the prices to go down :D So many good games that I want. Well I can't know that they will be good, and that is why I don't pay over 20 for a game unless I'm absolutely sure that I will love it

I would but that thieving boyfriend of mine still has it.
I will send you a message when I get it (you'll probably have it by then anyway) 'cause I've never played the multiplayer on it yet and I'm quite eager to try it out =)

Ok, cool. It's good fun even with two players, so I imagine that the more of us there are, the more fun it gets - I know that the enemies get stronger the more of you there are playing, so that could be entertaining.

Bah, mine's for PS3, so I guess I can't join you guys.

I've got it! Feel free to add my tag at hyperdunkz
My brother and I are only level 23/22, so if you're higher, we might be a bother. If you're just starting, I don't mind creating a new character!

Right, this baby should be arriving in the post from Lovefilm in the next 2-3 days, so who's up for trying to get a gang organised? :D

I'm down to be in a gang. :)

I just noticed that you're in the UK. It's a good thing I am up at all hours or this might be a problem. :P What time are you usually on playing your time?
Jason
06-11-2010, 09:45 PM
It can be any hours really. I do shift work, so I'm up and about at strange hours of the day and night. :p

I got your friend's request! Hoping to see you on soon to play! What level are you currently?

I had a couple of afternoons hammering away at it this week, and I'm either level 15 or 16, so a couple more levels and I'll be able to at least keep up with you. :)

I have this game and would love to play online with some of you guys, I never completed it though because I felt it was getting quite dull and repetitive. Plus my exams were getting in the way.

Bah, I have it on PS3, so I guess I'm out. =/
Half everyone else here has on it 360, though, so you'll probably find someone to play with. :)

I'm game for this. I have the game on rental - I was going to send it back soon, but I'll hold fire for now if there's a good chance we'll get a game going.

I could go on now, because I'm back home and my brother has a copy, but I don't have any of my save data :(
I have it. I haven't played in ages so we could just start a new game.

Ah, missed this. I'm actually at work now. I'm on nights tonight and tomorrow night, but after that I'm pretty much free until Saturday.
Then we shall play then, gives me a reason to crack out a great game I never beat.

Ok. Well I've got a level 20-something Siren going, or I can start afresh. Either one works for me.
I'd like to start fresh tbh, so I can make a hunter thingy.

I guess I can start again and we can just play through it on co-op but like I said before I won't be able to get on till the end of September :/
I bought the game Friday. I played the singleplayer for some time, reached level seven and got my backside handed to me. I tried multiplayer today. My team mates were level 24, 26 and 33 and the enemies could kill me with two hits.
I had not much fun, but I reached level 15 in no time.
Anyway, I will try some more, because I think the game has some potential :) It may be good for some hours without Black Ops.

The game in my experience (like any other co-op game I guess) is the most fun when played from beginning to end with a friend. The game does make a good try at scaling enemies, but it's never quite the same experience as struggling to beat the next quest with somebody at your level.

Yeah, I agree completely - I feel Borderlands got a LOT of unfair criticism from people who simply didn't experience it in the way it was meant to be played - as a group of four people all at the same or similar levels, working through the game systematically. I've only experienced this briefly, but it was such good fun when I did that I'm anxious to do so again.
Yes, that sounds like fun. I was quite confused how high the level of my mates was... This made the enemies so strong, I couldn't deal them any noticeable damage.

It doesn't even take 4 people. Me and MNDF ran through it (as I'm sure I've mentioned already) together, and then ran through playthrough #2 as well, and it was awesome fun. I haven't played it solo at all, so I dunno about all these difficulty concerns, but I can't imagine that it would be any fun at all to play alone. On the other hand, just with one friend running through from beginning to end, it is a fantastic game. There's really not much point playing it unless you have someone to play with, otherwise you will find you don't really like it. It's like Left4Dead in that way. Boring as balls by yourself; great fun with mates.

^ Change "Me and MNDF" to "Arch and I" and then that is my response.

Yeah, I played through the majority of this game with my cousin. There was an offset of few levels between our characters (I leveled up faster than him, for some reason - but he occasionally played without me in other people's games), and it was still insanely fun.

Ah I've done a playthrough of this with my bro and his friend. Most enjoyable arse-kicking there was. We were supposed to continue through the second playthrough but they flaked on me some time ago. I'm up for joining you and don't mind making a new character if you like.
RoamingJim is my tag. I'm not online very often as my internet can only go to either my pc or Xbox so I may have to sort of schedule you in.

Yeah, I'm happy to start again if we can get a party of four. I don't mind what class I play, to be honest. I usually play Siren, but I'm happy to change.

As soon as I get a TV in my room I can be on whenever. My brother has a copy of the game so I can play now that I'm back home.

You should get an Xbox then. Who needs to eat anyway?
And I'm sure your lady will be understanding once she's finished punching you and sobbing.

It's entirely possible (though unlikely, knowing how this business usually goes) that Arch, myself and you could do some Borderlandsing some time on these here PCs we have.
Though that really depends on Arch having free time.

Give me a month, and I'll have heaps. On account of midyears being finished and stuff.
