This forum's lack of sufficient tech-gasms disturbs me greatly, so I have decided I must rectify this.
Quite simple, really; show off what software/hardware specs you're toting. ;)
I got meself a...
Motherboard: Gigabyte 965P-DS3 Pro
CPU: Intel E8300 @ 2.83 GHz
Graphics: NVidia EN9800GT, Asus Edition w/ Glaciator Cooler
RAM: 2x2GB G-Skill F2-6400CL5 (5-5-5-15@800MHz)
PSU: Seasonic S12D 650W
HD: 1x500GB 7200RPM Disk
Monitor: LG Flatron W2442PA - 24" Full High-Definition(1920*1080) TN Panel
Keyboard: Logitech MediaElite
Mouse: Logitech MX400 Performance Laser Mouse
Speakers: Logitech X-230 2.1
Should be getting m'self an ATI HD5770 in the months to come, and switching my primary partition to a RAID0 config on 2x160GB hard disks I've got handy, which should be sufficiently awesome.
How 'bout the rest of y'all?

Sure!
My desktop is made out of:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.8Ghz
RAM: 4x1GB
GPU: BFG nVidia GeForce GTX275 OC + my old 8800GT (*sob* I remember when this card was the shit and I was thrilled for managing to get my hands on it) for PhysX and making the computer run hotter.
HD: 500GB (used to be 750, but one of them crashed and I never replaced it.)
Plus a 22 inch HP 1680:1050 display, and a Razer Diamondback mouse.
Literally an hour or two ago I ordered my new laptop which is the new Sony Vaio Z with the following specs:
Intel® Core™ i5-540M processor (2.53GHz) with Turbo Boost up to 3.06GHz
192GB (128GBx1 + 64GBx1) Solid State Drive
4GB (4GBx1) DDR3-SDRAM-1066
And their fancy hybrid graphics deal, essentially meaning one Dedicated nVidia GPU with 1GB Vram (don't remember specifics) and an integrated one that switch depending on usage.
I'm absolutely thrilled for the new lappy, even though it was gruesomely expensive. It's tiny but not too small, great display, sexy and powerful. The only problem with it is that I can't afford a 320 or 500GB SSD, so an external HD will make an appearance.
Edit: Oh, and since it was free I got a smiley face engraved in it. Now the computer will cheer me up all day long. It look liek dis:
: )

To be honest, my laptop's specs compared to all of yours will be laughable.
And I'm not sure how to find out half the specs either.
Motherboard: No idea ...
CPU: AMD Sempron(tm) SI-42 @ 2.10 GHz?
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 3200
RAM: 1GB
PSU: No idea ...
HD: No idea ...

CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
GPU 1024MB GeForce XFX GTS 250
RAM 2.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 333MHz
HDD Seagate ST3500630AS 500GB
It does what I need it to. Most of the time.

MOBO MSI 790fx- GD70
CPU AMD Phenom X4 955 Deneb Black edition 3.2ghz (I've had it fairly stable OC'd to 4ghz with a bit of a volt mod but it runs everything fine without overclocking)
MEM 4x2GB Coarsair PC1666
GPU XFX ATI 5770 & ATI 3870 (I had to install my old card so I could use the S-video port to watch tv on)
PSU Antec 550W True power
HDD's 500GB WD 7200, 300GB WD7200, 80GB WD 7200, and a 16GB drive that I don't know much about other than I use it to boot to Backtrack.
Archangel the 5770 is great and a pretty good deal. I've been watching the prices and when it drops a bit I'm going to pick up another one and run them crossfire. I figure I won't need to upgrade for several years at least.
Edit- Oh my heatsink is a Zalman 9500A. Case is an Antec 300 with 5 90mm fans + the PSU. I pretty much built this PC for about 600$ by parting out my old machine.

A 16GB drive? 3.5" and all?
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. That be old school, dawg.
Otherwise, a very fine rig there, Nonsequitur. The AMD CPUs are generally behind Intel in terms of stock performance and bonus goodies, but they overclock like beasts for all your number-crunching needs.
I've also got a Thermaltake Xaser V case. Don't much care for the checkerboard pattern on the front, but the black exterior, solid aluminium frame, 5 fans, 6 fan controllers and LCD temperature monitor (With 3 attached sensors) makes me quite sufficiently love it. Got my sixth fan controller rigged to a Zalman 9500 CPU cooler/heatsink, same as yours.

That 16 GB HD has been with me for about 10 years and who am I to say it's done.
I know I should have gone with Intel but I went with what had treated me well in the past. Your E8300 will likely OC well past my AMD... But it will be harder (I think). Still you should wait until winter or turn up your AC and see how far you can go and still post.
People get suckered into buying new chips that are nothing but overclocked versions of what is already available. Overclocking isn't the chip killer people make it out to be.
Checkerboard pattern doesn't sound all that great but, hey that doesn't really matter and you could always pretend you were Croatian.

I don't know much of the specs...
Intel Pentium 4 650, 3400 MHz (17 x 200)
256 MB DDR2-533 DDR2 SDRAM (5-4-4-11 @ 266 MHz)
RADEON X300 SE 128MB HyperMemory
Seagate ST3160828AS 160GB HDD
I have an external 1TB HDD, but I mostly use it for backup.
I wanna get a new computer... mine's slow as hell as it doesn't run any game past 2004... at least not without lagging even with the graphics turned all the way down.
I'm thinking of buying this some RAM and keeping it for recording software and synths, for my home studio, but I don't even know much RAM I can get for it...

Whenever I see one of these topics, I just know that everyone else is going to make my computer look ancient in comparison. The contrast would have been even greater if it were not for the computer I bought about a year ago, and upgraded the video card and power supply for in trying to make it a decent budget gaming machine.
Anyways, my computer specs:
Operating System: Windows Vista (64-bit)
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 7750(2.7GHz) Dual Core
Memory: 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800
Video Card: 896MB EVGA GTX 260 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130370)
Hard Drives: 500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 7200RPM
CD/DVD Drive: 20X DVD±R/±RW Dual Layer Drive
Sound Card: Integrated
Power Supply: 550W VX Corsair (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004)

My desktop is complete and utter crap, so I won't bother posting that. My casual laptop, on the other hand, is worth of mention. I can play 95% of the games pretty much without problem and some even at maximum settings.
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional x64
Processor / CPU: AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core (x2) @ ~2.1 GHz
Memory: 2 GB RAM DDRII
Graphics Card / GPU: ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4530 series
Sound card: Integrated/On-Board
HDD Capacity: 300 GB + 1 TB External
Can't use my laptop ATM as my adapter died. And seeing as HP's service is pretty crappy (which I realized), I'll have to await them to send a new one, which takes about 4-6 weeks in total. And now one week longer because they need the s/n of my laptop. Quite disappointed with them, but who cares.

I'll be needing to wait a bit more for my rig that I've posted previously (cash-flow took a hit with car repairs and a few other unexpected expenses)
But my Laptop is an ASUS M51Sn (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Asus-M51SN-Mutimedia-Notebook.8452.0.html)
It's lasted me a few years now - expect the mic port is ruined, as is the DVD-Drive (from a misplaced Wild Turkey stubby - oh how I cried over that spilt bourbon)

That's the worst possible place to spill your bourbon!
I mean, not only was it not spilt into your mouth, but it ruined your lappy somewhat.
On the other hand, though, I have an ATI 5770 for a GPU now. Thing is idling at 27 C--colder than my CPU.
I like it.

You have... an NVidia Graphics card and an ATI card in the same machine?

Yeah, I know it's a mortal sin. I actually just installed the ATI one yesterday since I needed more video outputs. I don't actually use the ATI one for anything productive, it was just an old one I had lying around that I could use, and I'm not ready to buy a new one just yet (even though there were some nice GTX 460 deals recently).

Okay here are the stats for my laptop.
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo P8700 @ 2.53GHz
RAM: 4GB
HDD: 300 GB WD 7200 rpm + 1/2 TB external
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon 4650
AUDIO: Onboard ATI High Def chipset
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Nothing special but then the system is over a year old. Still I haven't had any problems playing games on it either. Except for the battery life, which is crap, I really like this system.
