Has it Finally Cocked Up?

Yeah my 360 won't read any discs - I've tried them all.

I come back from holiday, find out my 6 year old brother's been constantly playing it and I'm not quite sure if he's accidentally dunted the disc reader or whatever but it doesn't even spin the disc or make a noise or anything.

I'm not quite sure what to do about this as my warranty is up, I think it only lasted a year.

And I'm definitely not doing DIY on my own xbox as I've tried that on various gadgets before to have them in a worse state than to begin with.

So, any advice for an aggrieved gamer?
Any way to find out the price to fix this problem as well ...

Well go ask in the local game store (if you have one around) what it might cost to get it fixed. You probably can keep your hardrive and they usually give you a replacement for the while that yours is getting fixed. :)

The disc drive on mine went as well - it's pretty common on the 360 actually.

I took mine to a local place who did an excellent job - he does nationwide jobs as well, I think. It cost me about £45 in total, and that would have included delivery had I wanted it, I think. Have a google round, there'll likely be plenty of places who'll do it for roughly £40-ish.
