I may start praying. Praying lots. To all the gods of every religion. Because by the gods would I live this to happen.
... unfortunately it doesn't seem likely at all... even considering this:

I really want to believe it... but I'd just get let down, I know it... sigh.

I'm in your boat too - I'd love this to happen
But the chances? I think they're quite good actually - I'm a believer :)

I'm not sure if Heavy Rain is a 'true' PS3 exclusive or not. I know that recently quite a few games that have been called 'exclusives' (Gears of War 2, Alan Wake) aren't actually nailed to their platform - the developers have simply chosen (and probably been paid a hefty fee) to launch it on one platform rather than all.
With Farenheit being a multi-platform title from launch, I'd have expected Heavy Rain to have made an appearance by now, but hell, I think it'd be superb to see it go to PC - everyone deserves a chance to play this game.

I'd rather have it on Xbox 360, but PC will do just fine :D As long as I get to play it.

I'm not sure if Xbox could really handle this one... but I'm no techie. All I know is, I spent three days non-stop playing that game at my friends house because we became obsessed with it. I don't own a PS3 so I had to keep coming over just to see what was going to happen next.... and THEN you can have so many other things happen... it's a really compelling game.

I think the difficulty would be with the amount of data required. For better or worse, Microsoft picked the wrong side in the HD Wars, and as such they're seriously limited to how much data they can get into a game. Graphically, the PS3 and Xbox are fairly close, but the PS3 has a huge advantage in the fact they can cram an awful lot of space onto a single blu-ray disc, as well as compressing data for mandatory installations (Heavy Rain being one such game). Graphically and processor-wise, I don't see any reason HR couldn't make it to 360, but I think storage media is the problem.

Yep, I think you hit the issue right on the noggin' thar, Jase. As far as the GPU and CPU of the 360 goes versus the PS3, there really isn't much difference. Actually, there's a huge difference, but that's not the point--the point is that in terms of their capacity to process and render awesome stuff, they're roughly equal. Unless you program specifically for the PS3's Cell microprocessor (It has this funky system of "one main 3.2GHz processor and 8 lesser 'synergistic' processors"), which is overly difficult and would make the whole "porting to other platforms" thing really difficult, 'cause you needa change the engine and all.
But, Heavy Rain doesn't seem to be particularly CPU intensive, so there's not much reason to program specially for the Cell microprocessor, when you can just program it normally and tell the "synergistic" processor cores to go root themselves (Hurr, poorly-conceived maths processing pun). The graphics are pretty awesome, but alot of that is due to awesome BluRay High-Def, and it's nothing that a 360 couldn't handle. So yeah, the only real issue would be that all those high-def textures and cinematics and such are only possible because of the nifty storage capacities of Blu Ray disks. For the 360, there would need to be some downgrades to make it fit.
It'd be splendid for PC, though. Which is, incidentally, the platform I love most, so... pwease?

From what I can gather, after researching a bit, Heavy Rain was originally slated for a simultaneous release on Playstation 3 and PC, utilizing Ageia PhysX on the latter. Due to complications, the game was made a Playstation 3 exclusive and nVidia never updated their PhysX page. It's a shame if it's true, as the game would probably have fared pretty well on PC. I liked Indigo Prophecy, and though I lack a Playstation 3, I bet I would have enjoyed Heavy Rain too. But hey, we can always wish for a spin off, or a future port.
