Yep, that's right, Steam is being really awesome again. This time, in the form of a Summer (til July 5th) Holiday sale. Of course, in actuality it is Winter, not Summer, and I won't hear a word against it from you goddamn northerners, but in light of all the really great discounts (http://store.steampowered.com/), I suppose I can forgive Valve.
Not only do they have discounts on all major publishers and packs (AKA 50% off the THQ Pack, and 75% off all 2K games and the like), but they are also having daily sales on select titles that only last 24 hours.
There are far too many titles to list in this awesome sale, so you'd best poop open your Steam app or head on over to their website to see just how much win there really is.

Yeah... I saw that typo, giggled, and then decided it was worthy of remaining. ^_^

I got a few things already - though not much else perks my interest (either have it already, don't want it etc)
Got the Overlord Pack (Overlord, Overlord: Raising Hell, Overlord II) - granted I have Overlord on the 360 already, but rather than pay full price for the addon and II, I thought - $5 for all 3, why not.
Also got a few.... interesting ones - Vegas: Make it Big and M.U.D TV.
Might see what they have on the daily ones and grab a few more.

So what all did everyone end up getting?
I picked up:
Flatout: Ultimate Carnage
Half-Life
Kane and Lynch
M.U.D T.V
Overlord + RaisingHell
Overlord II
Portal
Vegas: Making it Big
Not granted this is on my crappy, low-end Laptop with limited drive space remaining. Had I had my new computer (which is taking longer than expected :( Some unexpected expenses - ie 4 infected wisdom teeth) I would have grabbed a LOT more. But this should keep me going until the next big sale.
It's a shame the few games on my wishlist (Hitman II, Rome: Total War, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast) were never on sale.

Jedi Outcast was part of the Star Wars pack's sale. Had something like 33% off or the like. It was reasonably cheap.
I ended up with Max Payne 1&2 (Which are awesome) and Half-Life 2 Episode 2., 'cause it was the only one in the series I was missing. I would've liked to get Metro 2033, Dragon Age: Origins or STALKER: Call of Pripyat, but the former two continued to be far too expensive for cheap lil' me even on sale, and the latter never went on sale that I noticed.

I would have grabbed that Arch, but it was pointless since I've got/finished most of all the others already - I was umming and ahhing about whether it was worth it and decided against.

There are times when I'm happy my computer is almost 10 years old and can barely handle any games. This would be one of them.

And, though I am running low on life-funds, I have promised to myself that I shall buy New Vegas DLC as soon as it goes on sale. And thus, my first sale purchase, 6$ worth of DLC.
And I just barely caught the sale, what with it ending within the next five minutes.

Good catch Konrad. You should have waited until the timer was down to the last ten seconds though and then gone "NOOOOOOO!" only to click the buy button in the last slo-mo second.
I bought Just Cause 2, downloaded it. Doesn't work. Like a fool I failed to check out the minimum requirements and I need a newer version of windows. CLUNK!

Haha, that's probably a good thing for your social life. Just Cause 2 can get very addictive once you figure out that you can attach human beings to fighter jets and then fly said fighter jets. :D

REALLY?
You know just the other day I was lying awake thinking you know what I'd REALLY like to do in a video game? I want to tie some git onto a jet and then fly off, into the sun, with him screaming away!
Obviously I'm lying because that's really mean and sadistic and I'm gentle soul at heart....
(Where can I buy this game?)

Just Cause 2.
But yes, Just Cause 2 is massive fun. It's basically a monstrously huge sandbox for you to cause chaos in however you choose. Particular favourites are:
Attaching a motorcyclist travelling at 100mph to a tree by tether.
Sneaking into a base, planting C4 on the helicopters, sneaking out again, then bursting through the main gates to attract everyone's attention, before exploding the helicopters as they take off.
Base jumping 350ft off a hotel roof before grappling onto a waiting motorbike and roaring away from your pursuers.
Game's awesome fun. Sometimes you'll get a little bored, as it's a bit too big, but it's great to just pick up and play for an hour's mindless carnage.

Want something fun to do, winch a bus up to the tallest mountain and drive it off there. Trust me it will be the most epic thing you will see.
