Ok, so having gotten it from Steam's sale the other day, I've finally finished it. I know there's 4 different endings, but firstly I went with the 'proper' good guy ending.

Only because I'm lacking ammo at the moment to do the others and I can't find anymore :upset:

Now, I've not played much of the original yet - though I will now - and a lot of people say the original is fantastic. But IW is a great game in its own right. Its a good blend of FPS/RPG with a decent storyline, good graphics (for its time) and plenty of stuff to do. After the first couple of missions (up until Cairo the first time) you're just... sucked in... and want to find out every little secret you can.

... and there's nothing more satisfying than turning everyone's own bots against them and going on rampages

So yeah - fantastic game in all. I saved in the right spot that I can go back and do the other 3 endings now, which are a bit more difficult, but should be more fun.

I don't see why people call it a bad game in the first game. Yes, the interface is confusing at first because it's a console port. But other than that, it's a lot like the first game, just 'modernized'. It didn't manage to maintain the kind of 'all hope is gone' dystopia that the first game had, but it did manage to create an atmosphere of conspiracy and science fiction.

... Oh, now I definitely have to play it again.

I'm playing through through the first one once I finish with Max Payne 1 & 2, then I'll play IW.
