Which class did you start as?

The hardest part of Urban Dead is almost definitely the first few levels. I made the mistake of picking a 'consumer' class, which is pretty much the hardest class to start as. At the time I didn't know that, mind.

I'd also recommend finding yourself a small group - a lot of the larger groups are a little over-officious and lack the fun factor of the smaller groups - probably the best bet is to find a pack of survivors to play with in a safe suburb - there's a handy Map (http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Suburb) on the wiki that's continuously updated and reflects which areas of the city are dangerous and which aren't as bad - unfortunately you've joined just as a couple of the larger zombie groups are going on a city tour, and that pretty much means there aren't many safe places to hide, as a wave of 200+ zombies pretty much goes wherever and does whatever it wants. :p

The best class to start as a human is Fireman. When you start you won't be able to get into any good buildings so a non-ammo using weapon is nice. Use the wikimap to find out where you are and where VSB (Enterable buildings) are. Cruise out side and whack on zombies once a day and gain some skills. Pick up the free running skill when you can.

Starting as a zombie is more difficult. The tasty harmanz are usually tucked away behind barricades that are not so tasty. Your best bet is to follow one of the hordes around and let them do the hard work.
