Possible downtime - 3rd-6th July.

Hey guys,

Just so you're all aware, MG is moving servers to a bigger and shinier server. There's numerous benefits to this, not least that it will make my life a little easier behind the scenes.

However, with this is the potential for downtime while we switch the forums across from the existing servers. I'm not expecting any serious problems, but it's entirely possible that there may be intermittent loss of access or certain functions while we move MG across to its new home. Unfortunately, the new server is based in the good ol' US of A, and tomorrow just so happens to be the Fourth of July, which means that there might well be a little more delay than usual.

We'll see how it goes though. Hopefully any disruption will be minimal.

Right, with any luck, the worst is now over. If you're reading this message, that means the DNS updates have propagated round to your corner of the internet. Generally it shouldn't take more than 24-48 hours, although frustratingly, my ISP at home seems to be a bit slow on the DNS updates, and I'm still timing out.

So, what are you still doing here? Get back to posting! :p
