Could someone tell me how the progress goes :D Do I lose anything? How do I transfer my stuff into the new one. How do I get my account to work on the new one?

I've no idea, really... but I've been looking a little into it. I wanna buy the new 360 and sell the one I got. :p

I do know you need a special cable to transfer your stuff from your HDD into the new one. As for your profile/account, I think you just download your gamertag on the new console.

These are just speculations of mine, though... I don't know for sure.

First you'll need a Data Transfer Kit. You can probably find a cheap one at your local GameStop or EB Games(or other game/hardware stores). I'm not sure how the progress goes, as I've never had use for it, but I believe you can ask it to transfer everything at once. That includes saved games, licenses, and gamertags. Otherwise, you'll need to use "Recover A Gamertag" to retrieve it, and there might be some issues if you have arcade games. Last I read, you'll need to contact Microsoft about transferring the licenses from your old console to your new one, but they may have automated that now.

That's about what I can recall for the time being.

Can't I just move the stuff from my memory stick? I got everything there. The gamertag, and all the save games.

I'm not honestly sure, to be completely honest. If you have all your stuff on an existing Hard Drive, I know you need to use the data transfer kit Serio mentioned. I don't think they're hugely expensive, but they do delete everything off your old Hard Drive during the process.

If it's all on a memory card... I don't know, I guess you just put the memory card in and go from there.

I'd recommend contacting some sort of support line and asking them. Wouldn't want to wing it and lose all your data :/

Can't you just take your hard drive off your old one and put it on your new one?

Or is that a stupid suggestion ...

Well, speaking for myself, I'm interested in buying a new 360 in great part because my HDD is tiny and the new one's got 250GB... I imagine dimples feels similarly. :)

I just used the memory stick. Moved everything there and then to the new xbox 360. Worked out perfect. So don't spend your money on a transfer kit if you own a memory stick.

Silent & tiny :D You don't even hear when it's on. My 1 year old had turned it on without me noticing and after we came back home I noticed it was on.

Finally I don't have to worry about what games I have room to install and how many demos I can get. Also it's awesome that I no longer need a 10 meter wire to connect xbox to internet.

Glad everything went smooth with the transfer! I really wish I could get this, the upgraded 250GB of space would be incredible.

It truly is. I have 190GB left. And I couldn't use it up even if I wanted to :D
