Morning,
My name is Sean, I'm a PC gamer from London - mainly L4D, that kind of thing. Been gaming from the Spectrum onwards. Tried the Wii - not made on it.
I'm also an author of zombie books & stories.

Ack, another Brit? ;)
Heh, welcome, I'm sure Jason will be glad to have another countryman with us. Care to elaborate on these books/stories?

An author? Awesome - welcome to the site Sean. I'll profess I've had a bit to drink and when I first looked at your name I thought it was seatnpage and thought "What's a seat and page got to do with each other?"
Anyways, aside from my randomness, welcome to the site - again. I hope you enjoy it here, and if you have any problems just gimmie a yell over PM.

No worries mate - yep I must have played far too much L4D - I've got a few short stories coming out. (I work for a living as well!)
My first book is out in a few weeks, it's called the Official Zombie Handbook UK - it's a geeky look at the undead - everything from how zombies are created to developing your own 90 day survival plan.
Obviously, Brook's guide is the bible for many people, but here in the UK, with no guns, we have to do things differently. Also, I wanted to model how our police & army here would respond. I suspect, many countries are in the same boat as us...
So, I put this together over the last few years, it meant research into food storage, energy, fortifying the home - you get the idea.
Anyway, it will be on Amazon in a couple of weeks. The website I run here in London is www.ministryofzombies.com
I'm a member of a couple of other gamer forum but I guess I was getting sick of being blasted by 10 year olds with text speak etc

I hear you, here in Mexico, gun laws are similarly strict. Mostly anything below 9mm is legal after registration, half a dozen permits and legal papers, plus psychiatric evaluation... anything 9mm and up is very illegal. No burst-fire or automatic guns, and only small calibre shotguns allowed (after even more permits, of course).
Also, the only legal guns can only be purchased from the Army at the capital... and they also sell the only legal ammunition and have the only legal range. :)
Anyway, welcome to the forums, man. Hope you like it here. :)

Thanks mate,
Same in most of Europe, Japan etc - what are we meant to fight the zombies with - a stick?
Tell you what though, our criminals seem to have no problem getting hold of weapons, they've got everything....mg's, ak-47's etc etc

Tell that to me. :p
The drug cartels here, which are currently at war with the military, have automatic grenade launchers, Stinger anti-air missiles, .50 sniper rifles... they're better equipped than the army!
The army parks a tank in a corner, a 6 SUV convoy armored as much as tank, calmly parks, some guys get out and shoot the tank with grade-A anti-tank weapons, like a Carl Gustav... repeatedly. Then they take off, casual.
It's insane.
Ah, but such is the third world.

Yeah - it's not that bad here. You are still more likely to get squashed by one of our millionaire under-achieveing footballers in their gold-plated supercars than be shot by gangs..
Guns are pretty much part of inter-gang stuff rather than on the streets...

Hi Sean, welcome to MG. Don't mind the Aussies, they're mostly housetrained. :p
Feel free to link to your stuff in the off-topic forum, I think it's something enough people would be interested in to consider it justifiable. :)
