Gaaaaaah. I'm unlikely to be hitting this one for a few days. The lappy keeps killing itself after about ten minutes of play, likely due to overheating. A quick check on HWMonitor indicates that my CPU and GPU are IDLING at 65°C, so I need to crack this thing open and get at it with some compressed air. Except I don't know where they'll sell it locally.

Apparently Asda sells them according to a guy in Gamestation 'cause I also apparently need to invest in some to blow all the shit out of my xbox.

Just as a sidenote:

Problem #9: CPU and GPU temperature rises / gets really hot when playing Alien Swarm PC. How to lower its temperature

Possible Solution #1: (by greenmonalisa from the Steam forums)

Enable VSYNC on double buffering and disable multi-core rendering.

Might helpt out a touch. Though if your idle temps are that high, it probably won't.

yes, they were. :P and rather useful as all you have to do is catch the swarm on fire and then they'll die on their own over time. i wish the tazer was a bit stronger though.

The Tesla gun used to be so incredibly overpowered that it wasn't funny... except that it was. Arch, myself and Josh, a mate of mine, managed to beat a good half of the game on the hardest difficulty with no trouble using just them... then they nerfed it and we struggled to do anything :/


Also; anyone for a game this weekend some time? Preferably during the Australian daytime?
