Is kinect realy all that good. Well I played it yesterday and I beleive its not worth more then £30. If your wondering how i played it early its because you can play it alton towers until the end of august for free for those who dont know what alton tower is its Britains best known theme park because we aren't quite good enough to get a disney land. I played kinect and its not refined enough for a fun stress free use the track events were based on how high your knees were not the speed of your legs my freind who is taller than me by almost a foot walked briskly and i sprinted and I won by the finest of margins its too sensitive on the distance you need to be away, however not a single jump was recognized on hurdles. Until a good shooter is available with kinect support i certainly will not be buying it.

Your thoughts?

I heard a few things, not sure if it's true:

If you wear fully black or too much black it won't work properly.
If you're too fat it won't work properly (apparently picks it up as two people).
If you wear a skirt it doesn't work properly.

I wonder what else there is.

It sounds like another shitty motion project. I highly doubt I will purchase this one. I don't think the Wii is all that responsive and I really don't think this one will work as advertised.

It doesn't officioly they said it could recognise american sign language when infact the version that will be released in november is incapable of recognising fingers.

Also jack i wore a black track suit but on the other hand it was extremly well lit and as for the skirt im sure my freind tom will wear one next time :)

on the skirt thing is it just skirts in general, or is there a length that works better, maybe shorter? How about stiletto heels are they a problem ?

Wow. Stiletto heels and skirts? What kind of games are you playing anyway? ;)

What a bummer to hear these reviews though. I guess we're still pretty new to this motion sensor technology stuff.

It was only a couple of days ago I spotted this argument, but has anyone else noticed that Kinect is essentially just Sony's Eyetoy (http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CCQQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FEyeToy&ei=e8p6TP7nC4a6jAes0MycBg&usg=AFQjCNFIOzORFODQ8QyYZCRAykuNhCelGA) with a few more bells and whistles?

I can't see Kinect doing much, to be honest. Not unless they get a Killer App very early in the lifecycle of the product.

Oh I remember that on the PS2. It was really hyped up and I wanted it just for the novelty really.

Never did get round to buying it though and it seemed to be forgotten as quick as it started.

Maybe the same will happen to this.
