A few of us, (Me, Jason, Corey, somedude) have this game now and it's absolutely ridiculous that we should not get together for a few sporadic rounds. I think we can have up to 8 Teams per game, so room is not a problem. Speak up... Wormrriors!

Sure.
Though, I realised last night exactly how much this game relies on skill when it came to the fore that I had completely lost track of how to play the game with the leet worm skills I once considered inherent in me...

Hmm, I never had worm skittles. I played the game far too casually (though somehow, obsessively) when I was very young to have actually accomplished much. I just liked the worms and how they would shoot each other and be funny. Hell, half of my gametime must have been spent on the Car map with maxed out teams all controlled by me. >_>

I used to play Worms 2 like a damned WoW-addict but with Worms. My ninja roping was once the pinnacle of achievement among mankind... now... well, I played and the first attempt at ninja-roping my way to kill a CPU worm ended with two of mine dead. Fml.

Oooh... Well, maybe the "W:R Sucks, Bring Back W:A Roping" camp is just the place for you to be. >_>
It's a surprisingly loud and obnoxious camp.
And by the way, has anyone been able to get an MP match going? Mine seem to consist mainly of every lobby I join disappearing, or people disconnecting from my lobbies after a second.

There isn't that much difference between W:R and W2 roping that I've noticed... the difference is entirely in my skill level, I believe.
I can't say I've tried MP yet... been campaigning for the most part.

I got my first two online matches going last night. It was lots of time, worm hilarity is certainly pronounced online. Especially considering the fact how horridly I was destroying my own worms, falling off cliffs into that ONE tiny patch of water and shooting myself in the foot, and at the same time getting so lucky that both times I was the last of two men standing.
Wormz r Fuhn.

Downloaded it last night and reunited the Famous Four (Captain Toenail, K'Var, Fluffykins and The Scar). Had a quick skirmish against the CPU before bed, and... got well and truly raped. My usually legendary bazooka skills were thoroughly rusty.
So, when's the game? :D

I played a few with Corey tonight. Hilarity ensued and we had plenty, plenty of luls. We had one win each, then a disconnect, and then a final victory for the one whose name didn't fit.
During this we had a proud moment of me correctly gauging the wind strength and bazooka power for one of those direct boomerang shots, some fancy ninja roping by Corey, some not-so-fancy struggles of mine to comprehend basic rope mechanics, and absolutely epic parachute bombing by Corey and well... some fabulous fuckups all around.
Like I told him then, this game is going to get really boring once we re-learn how to play. :p

I shall endeavour to make my way online at some point tonight to partake in some hilarity as well, then. Stupid job preventing me from getting in on gaming hilarity. >_>

absolutely epic parachute bombing by Corey
Inorite?
But any good moments we had were easily -- easily -- overdone by our moments of complete and utter failure.

So Konnie and I played another couple rounds today...
The first one involved an epic bazooka and two epic 'nades on my behalf that left Konnie calling bullshit before we replayed the fight scene of Star Wars Episode 3 with Konnie as Obi-Wan.
"It's over, MNDF, I have the higher ground."
"You underestimate my powers, Konn-" *falls into the water*

And we both sat there wishing it was a lava map.

*sigh* I really do wish it had been a lava map...
