Hey,

Well I've recently (yesterday) pre-ordered Fable 3 Limited Collectors' Edition (LCE), along with 4200 Microsoft points and the usual 12-months Xbox Live subscription. The game cost me €75,00 ($95,97). All-together cost me a good €177,45 ($226,55), but worth it. I'm extremely anxious to get it. Fable 3 will be a Godsend, judging by the shown demos, footage and whatnot. Don't worry, Fable 3, unlike Fable 2, will be released on PC at a later date. However there are no special editions available; just the regular one.

That said, those who pre-order have been granted the 'ability' to import a very unique villager (which you make through answering questions, etc.) into Fable 3, which your character can interact with throughout the game (click here to view the villagermaker (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/splash/f/fable3/villagermaker.htm)). Those who don't pre-order cannot import it, but you can mess around on the linked page instead if you're merely interested.

Here's a picture of the non-in-game extras (Fable 3 themed cards, and that other stuff):

Beside that, you'll get the following extras in-game:
Unique/exclusive outfit for your character;
Exclusive location(s);
New race for your dog;
So-called 'seal of judgment' which will help you make choices once you're king or queen (in-case you're not sure whether it's a good, evil or neutral choice).

So yeah, awesome! I'm going to get it the 29th of October (release date and my birthday! :))

And as a final thing, Lionhead will be releasing a Fable 3 themed X360 controller for $59,99:

.... what an ugly controller - they need to choose the design team.

Curious though - the villiagemaker, any word on whether it will only ever be available to those that preorder, or will it become available eventually on the marketplace to purchase as a PDLC?

As far as I've ever heard, the villagermaker is supposed to be a pre-order incentive only, and is seen as a bonus for those who pre-order. But that's as far as I've heard of.

And I disagree: the controller looks badass! :)

Eh. Exclusive locations? I despise pre-order bonuses that mean people don't get the full game if they don't. Seal of Judgement seems to ruin the entire point of decision systems...

... but that book looks cool. What is the book?

This is the precise description of the extras:

“A new quest: Uncover the mystery of the haunted forests of Silverpines and earn the legendary sword, Wolfsbane, deadly against wolves and balverines.
“Exclusive location: Unlock a new region, ideal for settling down with a family and discovering new treasures.
“Fable III playing cards: Created by Lionhead, these cards depict every type of character in “Fable III,” including Heroes, royals, rebels and villains from across Albion and beyond.
“Guild Seal Coin: The coin features a Good side (blue) and Evil side (red) to assist players in making critical decisions that will impact the fate of the world forever.
“A new dog breed: Renowned for its loyalty, the Boxer is a brave canine companion worthy of greatest Queens and Kings.
“One unique outfit: Unearth one male and female outfit from the mysterious, faraway land of Aurora, a new destination in your “Fable III” adventures.”

As you can see, these "exclusive locations" aren't really vital to the game itself or its story; just a by-product as DLC would be, so to say. And I haven't really seen people complaining about this little extra (as far as I have noticed anyway).

And if I'm right, that's not an actual book (would be a very big one if so haha), but I think a themed cover instead.

Ah, I can live with that then.

So long as it gets its ass over to PC in a damn hurry.

Fable and I have a long standing love/hate relationship. I've played them all and I'll play 3, as well.. but I'll save my lamentations for another thread.

I've very excited about the village maker, however. I wonder if there's a way for us to share our villagers amongst ourselves. I'd be curious to see other people's creations.

Check the in-game footage (and trailers) of Fable III. You'll drool even more. ;)

But, as to know the entire story that happened so far, I suggest you play Fable 2 (and 1 in-case you haven't) prior to 3. Make sure you read every single document and book, too! :)

I'm extremely anxious about the villager maker too. I'd love to see the creations of others. Last time I messed around, it was pretty neat.

So... exactly how crucial is F2's story to 3's? Because some of us are on PCs and the bastards didn't give us F2.

And how well could it be summarised on Wiki?

It may well be that I shall have to commandeer someone's 360 for this.

You could see the series as one big continuity of events. Fable 3 will be set 50-60 years after Fable 2, and Fable 2 was set roughly 500 years after Fable 1 (whereas much happened, including the destruction of the Heroes' Guild and the heroes, spare a few, themselves.

I'm not quite sure how well summarized it is on the Fable wiki, but it should be good enough. Nonetheless, having the actual experience is much better of course.

Well, I guess I'll wiki it before I play 'cause I really can't be bothered being a console gamer for a while :p

Lemme know if the wiki's any good, and if not I"ll play it sometime and fill you in.
