We've all posted about our jobs, yeah, but I thought it'd be cool to have a thread where we could explain our jobs, vent our labour frustrations, share interesting stories about working days, talk about our ambitions, and all that stuff. :D

I'll start by bragging about mine!
My jobs rule!

I get to wake up at noon and sit on my ass eating junk food while coming up with interesting ways to deteriorate my fellow human beings' sense of hearing, and then put that into my synth on this computer. Either that, or go to my rockstar room and play one of my instruments loudly in hopes of trolling my annoying neighbours, even though they're always at work at that time of the day.
Then at Wednesdays I see two of my friends and we rehearse the songs we've written recently and try to write new stuff. At the moment, I'll admit it doesn't make me too much money, however. :p

The other consists of grabbing my camera and taking pictures of whatever catches my interest in that moment.
And on good days, gorgeous girls pay me to get naked (or partially, at least) in front of me and just take photographs.
Can't complain there, I'm sure you'll agree. :D
I'm also working on an exhibition for early next year, that'll hopefully earn me either a good amount of cash and notoriety.

And when I really need some quick money, I get in the car with my sister and we drink good coffee and talk while we're stuck in traffic and arrive an hour later to a meeting where she sells blinds, curtains, floors, and/or many other kinds of decorations to all sorts of people around the city, while I carry her stuff and occasionally provide significant comments.
And I earn my assistant's commission. Fun. :D

I'm a music video director, video editor, cinematographer and video/TV producer. I actually have a television show called "The Lab" which is all about video games, my career is a 'follow your bliss' kind of thing

lol, you having this website is also pretty cool Jason, even if it's not your job. Thank God I found it. Tired of the immature rants. I'd join gaming sites and for years never post a thread because of the silly fanboys, zealots and flamers.

Heh, thank you - that was the entire reason for starting the site - there are other 'mature' communities out there, but they seem to limit their membership by age or platform, which seemed strange to me. So I started my own! :p

As for my job, I'm a Coastguard. Unlike the US and some other countries, our Coastguard is a non-military force, and we concentrate entirely on search and rescue. I'm based in the operations room, which means that I'll be part of the team (and with increasing frequency am in charge of the team) that co-ordinates the rescue effort by deciding where to search, what to launch, and so on. It's nice to know that you can launch several helicopters and a Nimrod fixed-wing aircraft at the touch of a button. :p

Interesting Job, didn't expect to see that. Question Jason, would it be a problem if I were to mention this site in an episode on my TV show? I saw where you could refer friends, well that's the best way I can think of doing it. My TV show broadcast all over the Caribbean and a few other places so If I constantly include it in the script I'm sure others like myself will log on.

Of course! I'm always happy for members to spread the word, and doing it on a TV show is a pretty damn good way of doing it! :)

Excellent, I'd be more than happy to do it. If you want I could also include your logo if you send it to me, if not I could just use a print screen of the home page. I'd send you a link to it after I post it on youtube so you can view it as well

I'm trying to get in at a book store. I'm obsessed with stories, so you can imagine how much I would appreciate such a job. Even if it is just being cashier and checking people out half the day long, you still meets lots of new people and get into discussions.

Some pretty cool jobs you guys have. :)
Search & Rescue people are actually, along with doctors, some of the people I respect the most. They're all about saving lives and all that wonderful stuff. I imagine it must be a rather satisfying job at the end of the day. :)

Some strangers at an instrument store asked me to give their daughter music lessons yesterday. I have been interested in teaching for a while anyway, so this might be a nice opportunity to take.

Haven't really got a job at the moment, but studied for application development; currently doing freelance vB/C#/PHP/Perl coding/scripting. And of course, the other little ones (being CSS/(X)HTML/SQL things) should they be a necessity in some occasions.

I work for a independent consumer magazine doing buying and product research. We buy products from stores, like cameras, fridges, TVs, food, etc and test them.. allowing people get information based solely on performance not on brand name.

And when not doing that.. I am a mum.
