Forgive me for acting like a child and posting a thread about this topic :lol:
Cardiff is currently a winter wonderland/drivers worst nightmare. Anyone else in the UK experiencing our wintery weather?

I'm hoping it's not the same as last year but I think it will be, I don't fly back home (in Scotland) till the 20th so if my flight is grounded or what have you I might be spending christmas on my own in Cardiff :/

Yeah, we're getting it on and off here in Norfolk. It's not really *properly* laying, but I've had to scrape the car off for both the past two mornings. Fortunately, after tonight I'm off for a week. :D

Just a very light scattering here in Bristol so far, which is only settling slightly on grass and trees. Its predicted to get heavier later though.

To be honest, I don't really care what it does. What I DO hope is that the bloody news doesn't make such a big deal of it like they did at the beginning of the year. I got absolutely sick to death of them going live to 3-4 different reporters at various locations, only for each of them to report that the 'roads are treacherous' (you don't say!). It went on for day after day after day.

Its snowing. Get over it and move on to real news. Ta very muchly.

:lol: Agreed most heartily. This is the problem with 24-hour news channels. There are now more news programmes than there is news to fill them with, hence we end up with stories about perfectly normal weather and skateboarding otters.

Last year the roads here in the Netherlands were treacherous. Pretty much anything that could be mere snow turned into a giant glacier... was very dangerous, and quite the lot of people had been injured.

That said, in the northern part of the Netherlands, it did snow. I live in the south, and it did not snow here yet. Just icy... a bit. Well, enough to not be able to open the door of my car. <_<

That said, I hope it'll be the same as last year. I love the winter, and I certainly loved last year's (no sarcasm, for the record). I absolutely despise the curse that is called summer. Oh the heat, I don't even want to think about it.

It's a good few inches here. But it's started to hail and finally rain so hopefully it'll be gone in the morning.

Damn that's bad, apparantely all the buses to and from where I live are cancelled, since my house is in the middle of nowhere...that's worrying.

We've only had about an inch of snow here, now its just ice everywhere :/ Cardiff council are supremely awful at handling this sort of thing!

Just braved the current blizzard to the bus station (40 minute walk).

Waited for another 40 minutes for the airport bus.

Found out my flight was cancelled and i've been placed on the next available flight (tomorrow).

I have made a crosshair from sandwich bag ties, which is attached the the peak of my Atari cap. It was supposed to help me aim snowballs, but my arm doesn't throw where the crosshairs are. Back to the drawing board.

I've never seen this much snow hit the island before, not to mention the entire Kingdom. An island far off the coast of Sweden(unless my memory is incorrect, that is the location of Bornholm) has been closed off and all travel to and from the island suspended. Last I read, the military base there had offered people shelter at their barracks, and if that wasn't enough, they considered clearing some schools and halls to make space.

You'd think we'd be better prepared for this kind of stuff.

'Tis quite nice, even if thus far the majority of the this whole 'weather' thing seems to have been hung up on raining profusely and being a tad cold. But, well, that's Melbourne for you. Eternally making no sense with regards to the seasons.
