hello people of the MG forums. tis a pleasure to meet you all. i'm a newbie by the name of happysister. yes, i am a girl. believe it or not, even with this nickname, people have thought i was male. -_- but yeah. been playing games since i was like 2. more on the casual side, though i like playing competitively in some games.

Nintendo has always been my long time favorite gaming company, for they always release games for their consoles that appeal to me more than the others do. i do like Sony though, at least the PS2 era. i kinda dislike Microsoft as a whole, so i tend to stay away from them.

what else might ya'll be interested in? *strokes imaginary beard* i've imported some of my games, so my library's got some obscure titles and stuff that was never released in the west. mostly for older systems though, like the Saturn and PS2 (i own Japanese models for both). that's another reason why i love Nintendo. they've brought a bunch of obscure and Japan-only titles to the Wii's VC. i swear, all the good stuff stays in Japan usually...

but yeah. this intro went longer than i intended, so i'll shut up now.

Hey, welcome to MG, Happysister! I share your distaste for the way Microsoft tend to do their business, but I'm far too impulsive to actually resist buying anything. Hence the reason I now own a Kinect, much to my inner hardcore gamer's eternal shame. :p

So, as it's a question I ask all our new members, what's your favourite game ever?

Helloooooooooooooooooooo there!!
LOVE nintendo. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
Unfortunately, I strayed away from it since I didn't want a wii because imo it lacks a "competitive" and large community. ...not that the xbox community isnt better in any way shape or form. Buuuuut, yeah! lol

Im probably going to buy one though just for skyward sword cause the zelda series owns my soul.

yeah, the Wii does lack in competitive games (unless you like stuff like CoD). i tend to get my competitive fill from Pokemon on my DS. MKWii was kinda competitive until all those hackers showed up online. some people think Brawl is like the most competitive game in all the earth, but i see it as more of a party game.

what's my favorite game? hmmmmmm...can i name like 20? XD i don't have a single favorite, lol. my top 5 list is (in no particular order):

Cave Story
Ys 1 & 2 Eternal
Golden Sun (both and prolly Dark Dawn when i finally get to play it)
Summon Night 2
Pokemon (not the crappy spinoffs though)
Dungeon Fighter Online
Lunia Online
Seiken Densetsu 3
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Waku Waku 7
Metal Slug
Gunstar Heroes
Super Smash Bros. (all 3)
Return of Double Dragon (Japanese version of Super Double Dragon)
Donkey Kong Country 2 (loved them all, but i think 2 was the best. haven't played Returns yet)
Kirby Super Star
Final Fantasy 4
Zelda

yeah, i have like 50 games in my top 5. and that's not the complete list.

PS: if anyone here is dorky enough to still play pokemon, hit me up for my HGSS friend code, and i'll play a match or 2 with ya.

Welcome to the forums, sis. You'll have to excuse my blasphemy but nintendo have never really been my bag, other than the classics (Mario, DK, Pokemon, etc)... I tend to stick to my PC games.

no offense taken. :P i love PC gaming too, particularly MMORPGs. i'm currently playing Dungeon Fighter Online and Lord of the Rings Online. i've tried a whole mess of others in the past. only a handful of them were able to make me keep coming back though.

My MMO experience is limited to some LotRO and a brief stint on someone else's WoW account and I can't say they've held me. I do love a good RPG though--from Diablo to Dragon Age and anywhere in-between. There's not much I like better than loot :D

you should try an action MMORPG. while still having the same repetitive questing, it feels more like you're actually doing something instead of clicking on an enemy and watching your toon kill it. think of it as playing a beat-em-up with RPG features and online multiplayer. the gameplay in action MMOs are usually much faster too, so it might be a little more exciting.

That's basically the extent of Diablo II's online aspect and I thoroughly enjoyed that game (numerous times over). Though, with Diablo III hopefully coming next year and the Warhammer 40,00 MMO to come toward the end of 2012 (but probably 2013), I think my lootin' and leveling quota will be full for the foreseeable future.

i never did try those games. for some strange reason, i tend to hunt for PC games i don't have to buy or pay to play. the only game i'm really considering paying a subscription for is Star Wars: The Old Republic whenever it comes out. i wanna be a smuggler so bad it hurts.

i know how it feels to have your schedule full of leveling and looting. XD so much loot. so little time.

Thank you :-)
I haven't been a fan of Nintendo consoles since the N64. I owned the GameCube and have the DS, but it isn't the same anymore. I miss my SNES...

Welcome! :D
Big fan of Nintendo here, though not really a fan of the Wii. If I ever bought one, I reckon it'd be for the classics plus a handful of games at most.

I can only guess the HGSS code thing is new, because the most recent Pokémon I've played is Emerald. :p
Regardless, I'm still dorky enough to play Emerald, Crystal, Gold and Red quite often... I also have Silver, but I gotta have it fixed, and Blue and Yellow were sadly stolen from me. There are few things I like so much in life as going on Pokémon Stadium 2 and contemplating my lifetime collection of rare and level 100 Pokémon. :D

yeah, in all the Pokemon games for the DS, they added a friend code system so you can battle people over wifi. that actually got me more into Pokemon because before, i never had anyone to battle and trade with, lol. Emerald was awesome, and so were all the GB Pokemon games. i kinda miss the times where there were only 151 Pokemon. now there's like over 600 i think in the new Black and White versions.

i miss my SNES too! i actually still have one and it works, but i'm missing cables so i can't play it. :/ plus more than half of my SNES game collection got lost in a move. so i'm very sad about that.

but yeah, thanks for the welcomes, guys. ^^

Same story as MNDF here, I haven't been very busy with the Nintendo, not even back in the older days, spare some renowned titles. But, every individual has his or her own favourite console or platform, and mine certainly is the old Xbox and Xbox360, with the PC following not all too far behind.

Anyway, enjoy!

Hey Happysister!

I owned a N64 for a brief month or so when I sent my PS1 to get ... fixed ... yeah. Uhm. Apart from that I've never really played on Nintendos. Oh wait, I lie, I had a Gameboy.

Loved the PS1 though & the PS2.

Enjoy your stay =)
