Following what I found to be the slightly disappointing Children of Earth series. Russel T. Davies has been working on the next series which appears to be some kind of weird spin-off/new take on things :/

So basically It's Torchwood, with the only 2 remaining team members (still annoyed about how events unfolded) and it's going to be set in the US with the CIA in charge or what?
Is anyone looking forward to this? I am but I'm also weary that it will fail spectacularly.
Bah, I miss the first 2 series :/

I rather enjoyed Children of the Earth, partly because it was some decent Torchwood, and also because it was a thoroughly good close to the series that kept in sync with its developed style.
To hear that it's going to just carry on, and that the big climactic end isn't even an end, just seems kind of... blergh. I'll still watch it. I'll maybe even enjoy it. But to me, Children of the Earth was a fantastic end to the series and it should've been left at that.

Meh, I don't like he basically decided to just kill off the cast, IMO those characters helped make it work it's not all just about Jack and Gwen.

You might wanna put that in spoiler tags, sonny.
And yes, that's exactly why it was a thoroughly good end to the series. With the way things are now, a new series is far from likely to work nearly as well. Which is why Children of the Earth should have been the final say.

Torchlight lost me when Harkness made out with himself that one time.
... though, seriously, I've never watched much of it. It's somewhere deep within the labyrinthine depths of my "to watch" vault.

I used to watch it quite a bit but then the people producing the show seemed to want to turn it into some great big platform for all of the main characters to screw each other on what seemed like each and every episode. After that I just kind of lost interest in it.

You mean the first season? Yeah, they didn't "decide to turn it to..." , they just started off as such. What they actually decided to turn it into was a good show, circa the second season.
