Inspired by a game I had on Modern Warfare 2 last night:

I'm not an especially good MW2 player. If I ever play with any of you, you may find this out - I'm capable, and I can be trusted to cover an angle or hold a position, but I'm not one of those players who can single-handedly wipe out an entire defensive emplacement with just a USP pistol and a smoke grenade.

However, last night in a team deathmatch in Karachi, everything just clicked. It was just one of those games where not only did everything go my way in those 50/50 split-second moments where you and an opponent walk round a corner at the same time, but I was also playing out of my skin, pulling outrageous shots with the grenade launcher that no doubt had my victims crying "OMFG H@X0R!" or something similar.
Anyway, I fought out of my skin, and only when the match ended suddenly did I realise: We'd lost 3400-7500.
On a team of 6, I'd contributed 17 kills and only one death, and we'd still been completely thrashed.

I swear, I just about wanted to give up right there. I never ever rant at my teammates (an exception might be if they try and steal my care package...), but I really had to bite my tongue to stop myself from asking "what the hell were you all doing?!" - half of them had the little 'prestige' badge next to their name - something I'm still almost 30 levels away from!

Anyway, spleen vented. Feel free to share some other times you either fought a losing battle on a terrible team or lost a game despite performing heroically.

I hate being on a terrible team, I'm not exactly awsome at MW2 but I just can't stand it when I'm flanked by enemies which my team should of killed but let slip past. Im just sat there shouting at the TV 'OMFG, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! HE RAN STRAIGHT PAST YOU'. This is why I prefer tactical games.

Personally, I do hate it a little loosing a game where I played better than most but then when my name appears at the top of the lobby list I'm like 'yeer, check it'.

In Left 4 Dead 2 I usually do very well at both staying alive and keeping my teammates up. It can be frustrating at times when people trail off on there own disregarding my warnings only to be pounced by a hunter or snagged by the smoker. I have only had a few times during a public game that I ended up with above average teammates. With that in mind I almost always end up leaving a group after a few hours of failed attempts to get everyone to the finale which is a huge challenge for most people. Normally I wouldn't bitch but I play a lot of realism/expert so I kind of expect people to know what they are doing.

There are some really insane people playing online out there.
I remember I met a chick on Xbox Live while playing Halo 2 with two of my friends. She invited us to a match with her two brothers and her best friend. It was team deathmatch, first team to score 100 points won. Us three were a team, her bros and friend were another, and she was a one-player team.
In the end, the score was 17 points for my team, 30-something for her bros, and she won the game with 100 points. It got to a point where all six of us locked ourselves into a room and she'd say over the mic "I'm gonna enter through the left door in 3, 2, 1..." and would still kill us all. It's not like we completely sucked either; all of us had beaten the game on Ledgendary before.

Could this be the Chosen One?
