Im actually extremely stoked for this game even though I just got the first one a few months ago. Although the replayability for the first one is rather suckish (play through it once and your satisfied...) I have high hopes for the sequel and its new multiplayer mode.
What are your thoughts? :)

I'm not excited about it. I played the demo for the first one and was bored, to be honest. A friend tried to get me to change my mind by letting me play it well into the game, but I found it boring again.
From what I've read about the second one, it doesn't really look like it'll appeal to me, but we'll see after it comes out...

CG you are missing out. The first Bioshock is definitely worth a play through or two if you step up the difficulty level.

I have avoided all the press on Bioshock2 just to sweeten the deal when I play it for the first time. The multi player mode could be a nice addition to what should be a killer campaign.

It's to my eternal shame that I admit I've never completed BioShock. I picked it up on Steam for £3.50 (I know!) about six months back, and it never really ran happily on my lappy, so I've been waiting for it to be a sensible price on PS3 so I can enjoy it properly.

The first game is worth at least one play through. Granted, some of the plasmids are a bit overpowered, its still really fun!
I still dont know if I want to preorder it yet.

I feel the same way about the first played through once never touched it again. I will wait a bit on that one for some reviews then take a look.

Got Bioshock on one of the last day of the Christmas Holiday sale, but wasn't overly impressed. Can't say that I'm remotely interested in BS2.

I still believe (after all the previews I read and watched) that this is a very unnecessary sequel to a masterpiece like Bioshock. I can't think of a way that they wouldn't screw up the plot of this one, how can they possibly top the twists of the first one?

But from a gameplay point of view it still can be done, I think!

I enjoyed Bioshock. It wasn't a omgbestgamevar type of experience, but it was one of the better I have ever played. The setting and climate were brilliant, this is not to be denied.

It's been a very long time since I played it. From what I recall my main gripe was that many of the abilities were too damn unwieldy to be of any real use. So I always stuck the the simplest "head on" attacks. I can only imagine this was much worse on PS3/Xbox.

I will play BS2 when it comes out, but I don't plan to preorder or madly rush to the store. This isn't a game that I madly want to play.

Edit: Also, moved to GG. Try to keep multipltform titles out of the system specific forums.

Maybe you should do less job and more looking official?

Maybe you should do less getting over yourself and more QQing.

I thought that was exactly the point of what you said? You know... Sarcasm through reversal/

Bioshock was an awesome game and I'm looking forward to the second.

Anyone seen the commercials for it? Looks good so far!

Jason

I've not seen any for it yet, but I have to say that the commercials for games are getting better and better. With the exception of Mass Effect 2. That was a bit rubbish, to be honest.

I'll be getting Bioshock 2 for the PS3 just as soon as I've finished the first one. :p

Related to bioshock, this video is friggin hilarious. (the series is also funny if you have time to kill :))

*one big spoiler is in it though, so I wouldnt recommend watching it unless you have no intention of playing bioshock 1 or dont care about finding out about the ending.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpK-ba4wc_o

SP is kewl, like the first game. Perhaps a bit too much like the first game, I feel like I'm playing an expansion not a full blown sequel.

The MP part is completely fucked... At least on PC, it's nearly unplayable with the amount of lag it has. I'm hoping it will get fixed soon, because what is playable looks really fun.

Get it! You know you want to. :D

Jason

I do, and therein lies the problem. ;)

Seriously, it's a ridiculous couple of months for games - MAG, Aliens Vs Predator, Heavy Rain, Bioshock 2, Final Fantasy XIII... I'm going to have to start selling body parts. Or my whole body...

Nah, I'll stick to the body parts. Games are expensive. :p

Gnargh. I forgot to set Bioshock 2 to 'high priority' on my Lovefilm (think a UK version of Netflix that also does games) list, and as such they sent me Serenity and Taken instead, so now I have to watch both of those in a day when they arrive and send them back straight away so I can play Bioshock as soon as possible.

I bought BS2 today. Except I cant play it until after my uber bio exam and all my other homework is done. x.x

Well, I can....But I really shouldn't...

MyNameDidntFit

Do it. I played Borderlands all through my exams, so you can play BS2 through yours.

First batch of DLC for this puppy has been announced - it's a small one, at just $4.99/400 MS points, and unlocks a few new bits and pieces (masks, trials, extra upgrades, characters and so on) as well as upping the level cap to 50.
2K have also confirmed that there will be extensions to the single-player mode in DLC form as well, but they won't be coming just yet.

The Multiplayer in Bioshock 2 is so ridiculously unplayable on PC I don't imagine they'll be having much sales. I'm assuming though, that it's very good on the other consoles?

Betty

I havent even touched the MP yet. From what i've heard - it is good, but there are a few problems with the ranking system? I think?

I still have to beat dead space lol.

Just started playing Bioshock 2 the drill is awesome way better than the wrench but I have to say it seems that this game is hard as hell way harder than the first but still enjoyable I thought I was a big daddy but i die fast on normal /shrug still fun and still has that Bioshock feel I enjoyed the first time around.
