Question: How pissed do you get if someone accidently hits you with a stray bullet, or kills you because you got in the way?
If it happens once, alright. A couple times, ....okay. But constantly. Almost to the point where you think they seriously have a vendetta against you.

I just played halo 3 (I havent played in a while, so I forgot how terrible the community was...) and accidently TKed a teammate because his head decided it wanted to be personally acquainted with my BR.
I was like, Damn. But whatever. Then I ran into him a few minutes later, and he started shooting me. Purposely. No one else was around. I moved out of the way, thinking it was an accident at first. But nope. Starting to get pissed, I fired a few warning shots into his face. Still didnt stop.
I stuck him. Unfortunately, he didnt give up. So instead of killing the other team, it was me vs. him. (I won. yay.)

Then a few rounds later, I legit stuck a teammate. It looked BAAAAD. He came around the corner, I got spooked, and stuck him. Couldnt BS my way outta that one. I was honest, I apologized, and this guy (unlike the other turd) was nice! and was like its all good :) even though I felt terrible and kept on apologizing.

So, honestly: Are you one of those people who get all butthurt over a friendly fire mishap?

FF doesn't bother me until it gets repetitive or if I know its intentional. There are always going to be people that insist on being an a** so I usually /kick or if I can't convince them to stop or leave I make/join a new server and move on. The interwebz and online games come with their share of tards and I think the best strategy is to avoid them.

Since you play L4D2 where FF is always turned on... I'm sure you know all about playing with idiots.

FF is at its best on Counter-Strike.

On the servers I used to play on, there was a system where friendly fire returned 150% of the damage you gave to your team mate. So, whenever someone pissed me off, I took out my Glock 18 and started shooting them in the foot doing minimal damage to both of us. Now, most people that piss me off do so because they're bloody retards and thus don't know how the FF system works... so they fire on my torso/head and die. Then I carry on merrily :D

>.> other than that, I don't mind FF if it's accidental.

I tend to get more irritated when I deal out FF than when I receive it - particularly if it's because some clown has just blindly charged straight into my crosshairs without thinking or looking - nine times out of ten he'll block a bullet or three that would have killed an enemy, leaving them free to kill not only him, but me as well.
I'm playing 'hardcore' mode on MW2, and I've notched up my fair share of blindingly embarrassing TKs, and so far everyone's been fine about it. ...well, they haven't TKed me back anyway. They've probably called me all kinds of names under their breath. :p

The only time I get a little uppity about being TKed is on PC games like CounterStrike or DoD:S and I get TKed and the killer doesn't even bother to apologise. Mistakes happen in games, and with all those guns knocking about, you know someone's going to get hurt sooner or later, but it's only polite to say a quick 'sorry' to the poor sap you just inhumed. Either that or laugh if it's particularly funny one. :D

I have had my share with pissing about on various servers, shooting and getting shot by FF. Mostly, i tend to play with people i know, as 'public' play doesn't really appeal to me anymore, not that it ever really did.

I apologize when I actually use my headset if I accidentally FF a teamie. I also don't get bothered when they return the favor as a quick justice kill. I appreciate it more when they don't, but still; one is acceptable. It's when they get all steamed and hunt you down for the rest of the match that is totally juvenile and unproductive for the team.

In MW2 I had a guy hunt me down because I "stole" his care package. What happened was, I was watching his left side for him while he was shooting at guys to my right. We were looking at crossing paths to gain more of a view. He tossed out the smoke marker for the package and it dropped. As soon as it dropped, two guys came from my side after him. I was able to pick one off but the other got him before I could stop him. I killed the 2nd and waited around for just a bit for my team mate to come back and get his package. It was a decent item, can't remember which, so I didn't want to sit around all day and let an enemy take it. It's better that a teamie gets it rather than the enemy, so I grabbed it. Turns out he was right behind me when I got it and he knifed me in the back for doing so.

My reaction was, "Psh! What a little 2-year old. Whatever." but I was over it. I spawned again and rejoined the group and while I was picking off enemies he knifed me again! I was fairly annoyed but continued to ignore him until he killed me a 3rd time. Then I hunted him down once as a warning but he kept on going at it so I killed him one or two more times before the match ended and we lost, of course.

There are more things than just simple FF in MW2 that can get annoying. Anyone with half a brain for etiquette can figure out how to be a good team player. It's the people that immediately come try to steal your package that you're standing in front of and the guys that call in an emergency airdrop and get mad when anyone tries to get one (which is it's purpose--sharing among the team) that blow my mind. Also when people just stand in front of you when you're obviously sniping down a very narrow opening. Or when they block a doorway. Or...*sigh* I could go on.

^ I had a similiar experience. People that complain about "stealing" a package or a kill need to stay away from me. If they can't see how stupid their complaint is within a team based game then they would probably annoy me to death.

Im always iffy about taking another person's care package because people get soooo pissy about it.
I had to take one today in-I saved it 2 times by killing enemies trying to get it, but the guy never showed up again, so I just took it. :S
It was only a predator missile.

Last night I nabbed an AC130 after a guy got shot. The AC130 can be a game changer and waiting for a teammate to spawn and get back to it isn't worth the risk. He thought it was horrible that I would take "his" package and no matter how much logic I put through my mic he was convinced that I had killed his unborn child and that there was no reason for me to take that package. /sigh

Later in the night I was playing L4D2 and my patience was tested to the max. Myself and two other friends were working our way through Dark Carnival on expert and the one public spot was filled with someone who had no right to be playing expert (90% of people on L4D2). It took us about 90 minutes to get to the end of the second map because the weakest link kept shooting everyone. It got to the point where he turned and blasted me with the shotty... apologized (sounded sincere) turned away and within 10 seconds shot me again. I was cool about the whole cluster f*** and didn't kick or bail until my other two friends had enough and quit. L4D2 on expert is full of people who have non-existent twitch reflexes and don't understand how FF can ruin a campaign. I wish there was an option to have FF reflected back. Even better would be stricter prerequisites to play harder difficulties where FF can ruin an entire map/campaign. Making the game completely open means that you can count on any public realism/expert game to end up in failure.
