Well, the first one was awesome - if a little short on content - and now the second one is on the way, promising more maps, more zombies and more gore (unless you're Australian (http://www.left4deadforums.com/22497-l4d2-refused-classification-australia.html)), and having played the pre-release demo, looks like it's going to be just as much fun.
There's something hard-wired into gamers' brains that means that anything to do with zombies automatically deserves attention, and Left 4 Dead 2 looks like it's going to be absorbing a lot of my free time once it hits the shelves later this month... discuss.
I will give it a peek when the demo is released on Tuesday.
I am curious if, from a problems standpoint, if it runs basically the same way as L4D does. Meaning are we likely to run into the same issues as the first edition?

I was astonished with the fact that the game actually performs BETTER than l4d. That's something that really deserves praise. The demo itself was good but like TP said, short. Curiously enough, it's actually longer than the original demo which only included 1.5 chapters.
Where I played through the original demo many, many times - the second demo has only seen one and a half play-throughs from me. My theory is simply that the novelty that l4d was has worn off long ago, and l4d2 doesn't offer enough in the way changing it despite being a solid game.
Perhaps they should have showcased some of the brand new gameplay content.

In the demo's defence, the 'crescendo' event at the end of the second level was excellent, and should really separate the real teams from the hopeless in the tougher game modes.
Like Iggy, I'll be interested to see what new errors and so on the sequel will throw at us - the first one had some quite worrying issues for some time. I'm already noticing an issue with the demo giving me some HUGE lag spikes at the start of each map meaning I continually lose connection for a second or two in the first two minutes.

Guys, check this out: A modder has found a way to make the L4D2 demo which only includes a short campaign into versus mode.
clicky (http://www.l4dmods.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=282:play-as-infected-with-the-left-4-dead-2-demo&catid=2:news&Itemid=13)
I have been playing a lot of this game and would definately slay some zombies with you guys. The hardest campaign for me so far is Hard Rain. The experience in this game compared to the first is much better. The new special infected help along with the new modes. The demo was not a good base to judge the game as it was/is to easy and to short.
I'm also looking for some L4D veterans who like teamwork and want to beat L4D2 on realism/expert... any takers?

Oh yeah def, hard to find good players for proper teamplay in L4D2.
What's your setup of choice? I usually go with Assault/Magnum/Adrenalin. I like the new 3burst rifle but sometimes everything goes out the window and I just need the autoshotgun to really put some hurt out there :)
I'm always the careful one playing and usually the last one up. Backs to the wall... move quick and together! haha

Depends really. Usually i go with the Sniper Rifle/deagle/adrenalin. The shotgun is a lot of fun, but if u wanna do some proper head chopping, the katana is first weapon of choice. :naughty:

Interesting news - it appears that Valve have made the move that legions of fans were calling for, and will be reintroducing Bill, Francis, Louis and Zoey to L4D2 in the form of DLC.
In the upcoming DLC (pencilled in for 'early 2010', but I wouldn't hold your breath...) named 'The Passing', the new gang will bump into the old hands along the way. Whilst at this point there has been no definite indication of whether the old characters will be playable or not bar the fact that they will be NPCs in the campaign mode.
The new DLC also promises new weaponry, a new Uncommon Infected, and a new game mode.
It's certainly worth noting, and Valve will be looking to restore a little of their lost shine after the fairly disappointing level (by their own high standards, of course...) of DLC for the original L4D.
