Just wondering if anyone else has played the bullet-hell game, Crimzon Clover, that was just recently released. I downloaded the trial and it really is a lot of fun, despite the steep difficulty curve that goes hand in hand with the genre. Link for the trial is here: http://www.vector.co.jp/soft/dl/winnt/game/se481428.html (just hit the green 'download now' button halfway down the page)

ok, so i finally got around to trying the game out. it's rather interesting how they make you play the game to earn credits to buy continues and other options. so it kinda forces you to get better at the game almost (or you could just fail a bunch of times to rack up the credits, but that wouldn't be as fun). i also like the lock on feature. gives you more of a reason to use your laser style shot. nice find. ^_^

Yeah, although you do absolutely need to do the 'farm and fail' technique to get enough lives just to pass through some of the stages, fortunately they are cheap enough with a couple of level passes.

so i showed this game to a friend of mine who likes shmups, and he was saying that it looked like the kind of game where the better you play, the harder the game gets. if you suck at the game, then the difficulty lowers. there's a game like that where he says people suicide on purpose to lower the difficulty of the game because it gets too rapish. dunno if he's right or not, but if so, that would explain why stage 2 jumps a mile in difficulty for me.

I only found stage 2 difficult because there was so much shit going on the screen, that I had no clue where the enemy craft were :D

Well, the best I've gotten is up to the level 3 final boss using 3 continues.

Yeah, I think there are two like on Stage 2. I was actually surprised when I reached it, I was not paying any attention to what was going on :D

Just watching your video, you do realize that bombs and breaks clear the screen of all enemy fire when you activate them. I tend to use it if I get cornered by a missive amount of fire; also in level 3 onwards it became my strategy to just survive until I can use a bomb to annihilate everything on screen.

yeah, i know what bombs do. this isn't my first bullet hell, lol. :P i'm just used to not using bombs and prefer to try and maneuver my ship through the bullets since you get such a tiny hitbox. plus, i wanted the meter to stack up for my breaks instead of using it for bombs.

Meh, the meter racks up so damn fast I can be launching new bombs as soon as the first has finished firing. Also, have you managed to get a double break yet? It is so awesome!

bomb spamming does not increase your skill in dodging bullets. *fixes non-existent glasses*

and no, i haven't figured out how to get a double break yet.
