With all the QQ'ing from PC gamers, someone might even think that MW2 wouldn't have done so well... but they'd be wrong -- and possibly a witch.

But, even with everything from tales of shoddy review practices to a rowdy group of PC gamers against it, Modern Warfare 2 has managed to rake in over US$1 billion with over 15 million (http://au.gamespot.com/pc/action/modernwarfare2/news.html?sid=6246316)copies sold world-wide. That 10-digit figure is the result of barely two months on the shelves.

Impressive; yeah, and well deserved, I'd say. With Modern Warfare 2 being what I'd call a fantastic game with pretty damn smooth and fun MP (on PS3, at least).

There are a lot of haters for MW2, but as console shooters go, it's the daddy. PC gamers who shelled out for a console port with a dubious multiplayer system have no-one to blame but themselves - it's not like any of this was kept secret before the release. Stop blaming the company and start using your judgement instead of just handing over money blindly because of the brand name.

MW2 is an excellent multiplayer console game. The campaign is a load of old bollocks if you ask me, but that's just my personal opinion - the fact is, it's the multiplayer that gives it the longevity, and that's where it really shines. Congratulations Infinity Ward, but don't rest on your laurels - there are improvements to be made.

IS IT OK TO STOP BOYCOTTING IT NOW?

Oh... it looks like... everyone went out and got it anyway.
And that's not a bad thing... It's actually a damn good game, with a multilayer system that shouldn't work but does. Very well in fact. People who complain about the system are the same ones who complained about it before they paid IW to complain some more.

The game is good on PC. And the notion that it's a port is a false one as well... Infinity Ward developed "IWnet" specifically so the game will work on PCs. And the controls or gamplay don't feel any more "consolish" than the previous incarnations of Call of Duty. The game in itself is more arcadish, but that's a design choice for all platforms, not a side effect of being played on the wrong system.

I guess I just miss the lean buttons. The campaign sucked balls as well... Now that's a piece of crap I never got through out of sheer boredoom. I don't know how far into the game it was, but I quit around the time I got to a level that had me Ramboing through a little village fighting an army of little heads popping up from windows doorways and rooftops... It felt like an on-rails shooter and I hated it. Beat the level and never launched SP again.

I contributed a bit to that billion and frankly it doesn´t bother me at all. It is one of the best games of its kind I´ve played and it might sound strange but the single player mode did not bore me.

Not strange at all, to me, at least. I thoroughly enjoyed pretty well every minute of it (aside from the times when the friendly AI basically stabbed me in the back and sapped my sentry -_-).

Yeah, I don't get why people hate on the single-player campaign. I thought it was pretty different and amusing.
