Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not exactly an expert on Star Wars, as I've never seen an entire film from start to finish. However, the games have usually been fairly good by the (admittedly very poor) standards of franchise tie-in efforts, and none looks as promising as the upcoming MMORPG The Old Republic.
The game has been in development for a while now, and recently BioWare's James Ohlen stated that they are working on completely unique and separate story arcs for each of the classes (six have been announced so far, two still unannounced as of yet).
In an interview with incgamers.com (look, a link! (http://www.incgamers.com/News/19682/bioware-on-the-old-republics-endgame)), Ohlen stated that:
"Just to give one example, if you were to play a Jedi Knight on the Republic side, and then if you were going to play the Bounty Hunter on the Imperial side, it's actually like two different games."
...
"None of the story content, none of the combat - none of it's shared. So you essentially have just played two different MMOs"

It's an impressive boast, and if they can pull it off, it's conceivable that SW:TOR could be a potential WoW-killer - a tag that's been handed to many MMOs, and so far there hasn't been anything that can even come close in terms of popularity.

Im very pumped for this game, but this is only because I still hold hopes that this will not be a monthly subscription game but with a system of microtransactions.

Otherwise... well, otherwise Im too cheap to play it.

I've been following SW:ToR for... I don't know; a long time. And, basically, as one whose MMO experience ends with Diablo 2, I'm bloody psyched for this. Everything they've said sounds brilliant and everything they've shows backs up what they've said.
