Just out of interest (and to help us work out where our users are coming from), what lead you to this site?

Your post on TAZ (The Admin Zone).
I know how hard it is starting up a community from scratch, and i had my fair deal of managing my various clans and game communities through my 6 years of online gaming. Seem to be coming down with the flu, so what better time killer then to lay in bed with laptop, watching movies, Photoshopping and browsing various forums in between running to the bathroom. I hope i can bring some interesting discussions to this place and i always like to meet new people.

I found this site from TAZ, I read your topic about requesting an experienced vB Admin.

The bossman talked to me on Steam when he was setting the place up. He showed me the link first and I went "oh, God, Jason's started a gaming porn site".
I was disappointed when I turned out to be wrong, but this is decent enough.

Oddly enough while keeping tabs on my google ads, I came across yours. :)
I googled "mature gamers" looking for a place where I can talk about games without the immature attitudes. I'm 25 and need a place to go and chat with other people like me. This is it... right? :)

I was looking at some article on the Game Informer website and saw a google ad. Skeptical at first, I decided to click it and check it out, and I'm glad I did!

An ad in Game Spot daily newsletter. Actually, the name was so appealing that since the first day we got the internet here in my country when I was in 9th grade it's still the only ad I ever checked. Honestly.

Wow, that's pretty impressive. Well, we're glad you decided to click that ad!
Good to see the advertising is working, too! :)

Same here. I googled, "mature gamers forum" specifically and it was not far down the list on the 1st page. Turns out the other, similarly-named site, maturegamers.com is only for Xbox Live users--they didn't really specify that in their description. I think they just assume every gamer in the world has a 360.

Hey there,
I've found the forum after seeing Konrad's signature on FileFront. Looks like a nice forum, so... yeah.

Excellent, remind me to suitably reward Konrad. I'll use the 'encouragement' whip.

Did anyone say whip :naughty:
Jason

I don't think it's possible to even use that smiley without turning whatever statement you were using into pure filth.
Example:
"I'm off to go help some old ladies cross the street... :naughty:"

Lemme try:
"Jason - The Head Honcho" :naughty:
Haha, you're right. But we're going waaay off topic now :naughty:

I was browsing the Left 4 Dead forums and in Target Practice's signature there was a picture link to Mature Gamers forums. It mentioned 100% Fanboy free and I was sold haha.
I remember the guys username 'cause I still have the tab up. Lucky.

Howdy,
I found you before when we were playing R6.
Was talking to Lance on another site and saw this link in his profile and got curious and asked about it. I recently left another gaming site because the people there drove me up the wall, and so I was super stoked to find this one.

i agree with you there. it's easier to get to know people in smaller communities, and it's not as overwhelming.

Yeah it's a lot easier to create a community from the beginning than to get involved with a larger one.
I always find it difficult to get to know people and for people to get to know me on larger forums (that's why this is the only one I've joined in the past few years!)
It's always nice to see the community grow exponentially when you've been part of it from the beginning though!
I agree. The only bigger community I am part of is TAZ. Most others are rather small ^^

Nothing, I'm just not into them. Probably because you can't just pull them apart and upgrade components.

really? i wouldn't even think about doing that to mine. i love how i can go back to my old SNES and relive gaming as it was back in the day. well, i would if i still had cables and controllers for it.

... wut?
PCs can play SNES games, the only thing difference between their functionality is that PCs don't have controllers.

I think she means playing it on the old console, as it was originally, for nostalgias sake. We all know the PC can play SNES games, its just so...soulless. Dammit, I need to be tripping over wires and blowing out cartridges if I am going to relive a piece of my childhood!

exactly. i do have a bunch of emulators for old school systems, mostly so i can play them with friends online, but....it's just not the same as playing it on the real console. when i get the chance to buy games i have roms for, i buy them. it's just much more satisfying for me to have an original copy that's in good working order.

I googled for mature gamers and it came up. I was looking for a forum of more mature players I could share my server with, and chat about my favorite games. :)
