I just read the interview with Omar Kendell at Gamespot (http://au.gamespot.com/ps3/action/ufcundisputed2010ps3/news.html?sid=6249475&tag=topslot;thumb;1)

From what I read, I'm really looking forward to it - the GIWY system sounds like a blessing from repetitive commentary from these sorts of games, you can now set indivdual move sets in stead of pre-defined, and biggest of all (in my opinion) - you can use the cage.

2009 was an excellent starting point, but I get the feeling 2010 is going to blow it away :)

you can use the cage.
I'm unfamiliar with UFC titles, but you've been able to use the cage in Smackdown Vs RAW titles for quite some time...

Yup - it was one of my biggest gripes about the title - but that was really it - as far as gameplay, and the general "feel" of combat, it's far superior to Smackdown vs RAW

I can kinda understand why "cage" mechanics aren't as important to UFC - since wrestling cage match rules involve escaping the cage, or using the cage in some fashion, where UFC, it's more to just contain the fighters. But it doesn't excuse the weirdness of not being able to shove your opponent into the cage and pummel them to hell :)

How did I miss this thread? :-/

I loved 2009, although I do hope they sort the frequency of the one-punch KOs out - I went through an entire career as a striker knocking guys out cold with left hooks, yet never once rocked one or just knocked him down. If they could sort that out, I'd be a happy camper.

Oh, they should probably sort the ease with which it's possible to go straight to full mount as well. I've won fights online in a matter of seconds (admittedly against rubbish opponents) simply by avoiding the initial punches, clinching, falling into guard, moving to rubber guard, then major transition through to full mount and pounding their face in.

I haven't watched UFC that much, but I do everytime I happen to see it's on. I just ordered 2009 for myself, and I'll rush to complete it so that I can get 2010 as well :D

If you're into your fighting games and enjoy UFC, you'll probably really enjoy Undisputed 2009 - it's a very solid game and really captures the feel of the UFC.

I'm still yet to see any hard and fast details regarding 2010 other than what's already been mentioned, although I've not been looking too hard. Bottom line is, if they just improve on last year's game by as little as 10-15%, it's probably going to be a worthwhile purchase.

I've played all Smackdown vs Raw games since 2006 and the few wrestling games that came before that. But wrestling is getting a bit old, so I want to try new stuff

Yeah, the gameplay in UFC 2009 was definitely superior to that of SvR 2009. I can't compare it to SvR 2010, as I've not played that one yet.

This game looks amazing compared to '09. I'm definitely going to buy 2010, as opposed to EA MMA.

Whoops - one key name missing there... no lightweight champion?

Obviously THQ didn't fancy Frankie Edgar to beat BJ Penn either... :p

It's quite good on SVR 2010. Still haven't received my UFC 2009 :(

No doubt they'll blame that on the volcano somehow. :p
