If you're signed up here, chances are I don't need to roll off a big list of rules that insult your common sense; "no spamming, don't flame etc etc etc" - we all have functioning brains, so I'll just post a few guidelines that you're expected to take heed of during your stay here:

Debate is encouraged, but please don't be offensive towards or use offensive language directed at someone. If you wouldn't say it to your mother or other half, don't say it to anyone here.

Please don't link to, ask for, or otherwise encourage the use of any pirated material here. It's illegal, and it will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Whilst we encourage members of all ages, we are not a 'family forum', and as such, some adult language should be expected. We're all men and women of the world - no-one here is going to ban you for the occasional four-letter word, but we might ban you if you start posting porn everywhere. Imagine these forums as a night out with friends - swearing is fine, showing us your ass isn't.

Please don't use us just to advertise your site. We allow a signature link or signature image up to 800*100 pixels, which should be the only link or reference you post to your site in these forums. We don't object to links to sites of interest and so on, but please declare if you have some kind of interest in any site you link to. If you're unsure, PM a member of staff and ask. Don't even THINK about using us in any referral reward schemes - anyone linking to these will be banned on sight as a spambot.

We're an English-speaking forum, and all posts should be in English. We don't mind if it's not your first language and you're not quite word-perfect, as long as you make the effort. Oh, and for clarity - 'postin lyk dis' IS NOT ENGLISH!

Finally, please respect the decisions made by Mature-Gamers.com staff. They are hand-picked because we feel they are capable of making decisions that benefit the forum as a whole. Any issues with a member of staff should be brought to my attention in private. No discussion of staff decisions will be entered into in public.

Whilst we know everyone here will have no problems sticking to these rules, it should be made clear that these rules will be enforced, and failure to adhere to them may result in temporary or permanent suspension from the forums.

This isn't an exclusive list by any means, but we're all sensible adults here, and we should be able to figure out the difference between right and wrong - unfortunately, this is the internet, and occasionally common sense can be in short supply.
