So it seems that the folks who made Neptune's Pride have gone and made themselves another long-running strategy game. Sounds vaguely similar to NP and likely is, but with some key differences that I'll let you read for yourself if you're interested.
Take a look here. (http://jf.ironhelmet.com/)
We'd need at least 3 people, it seems. Anyone interested?

Password: five
Anonymous? Optional. I'd suggest yes.
Other Info: Game is 'turn based', this gives all players 24 hours in which they must set any orders/etc before submitting their turn. Once 24 hours has passed or all players have submitted their turns, the game will skip ahead 8 hours. Feel free to submit your turns before everyone has joined the game--I have left mine unsent so that the game will not commence until we're all on board. Post when you're in the game.

So, it's a strategy game meets board game but online. Swell.
This, I could play. This, I could have time for.

Neptune's Pride, Jupiter's Folly...
The could at least make an effort.
On that note: I'm in.
PS. Should I be all... anonymous?

Might as well. I mean nothing bad could come of it...

Double post: I'll set up a game next week or so. Should give any takers a chance to get in on this.

Well, that's four of us already so I'll set the game up on Tuesday, as I have that day off and that means it's more likely to actually get done.

Are there max players? Can I join still?

Hmm, not sure. MNDF would be the man to answer that one.

Yeah I don't want to just take someone's spot if it's set to 5 players :/

No, I believe it's for 5 only.

Yeah, it was set for five, sorry Dags.
Also, a note to players: don't forget to hit Submit Turn once you're done, that way the game will progress much faster while still keeping us all on the level ;)

Well. I don't quite get this game, that much is certain. It seems to be some weird mix between Neptune's Pride and turn-based gaming that confounds me. Also I lose every battle.

You think you've got it bad? I spawned right next to some kind of spider/bug lair. All I know is that there's about 150 of them, and they seem to have developed a taste for my guys' flesh.

The number is the squad strength, the number beneath that is their modifier which is based on their level (1d6 = one six-sided die, 2d6 = two six-sided dice). It's basically RPG combat.
Every three "turns" you'll get more money and cards. Use the cards to upgrade your guys and mines temporarily and thus protect your mines long enough to get lots of crystal while smiting down your foes and thus win.
Simple.
Oh, and if you're losing every battle, welcome to hell. I play tabletop Warhammer and, occasionally, D&D so trust me when I say everyone goes through spells where the laws of probability just say "hey, fuck you asshole" and you fail everything.

I feel for you. I got one of them too. But I've already destroyed three squads of bugs so *muscle flex* rawr!
