Has anyone seen this yet? I just got through it myself. It's not bad for what it is really - of course I'm biased since Michael C Hall plays brilliant "fucked up" characters. And an interesting concept of taking games like 2nd Life to their logical conclusion.
So the question would be, if you had the choice - would you be the controller or the controlled?

I haven't seen it, strangely enough I don't believe this movie ever made it's way overseas to the Americas... Heard good things about it though, will watch it eventually.

From IMDB, it looks like it was released in the U.S. in September last year, but has the title "Game" instead of Gamer. Not sure why they'd do that but try searching that :)

They should have called that movie "Lamer" :)

Good actor, but a very shitty movie. Does not really appeal to anyone and is rather pointless.

I haven't seen it. I'm yet to see anything with Gerard Butler in that even remotely appeals to me. He's kind of the anti-Pitt.
Brad Pitt has a habit of making sure he only seems to appear in films that are either excellent or really appeal to me - often both. Troy was a notable exception to this.
The same is true to a lesser extent with Johnny Depp, although recently I've started to like his stuff less and less.

You mean you... haven't... seen 300?
That's just not right :P

I was very disappointed with Public Enemies. For all the fascinating historical characters and great actors involved, I thought it lacked character. Everybody looks the same, the shots are framed horribly, cinematography sucked. Didn't see gamer because I know better.

I actually haven't seen 300. I'll maybe add it to my Lovefilm list at some point - however at the moment I'm going through the 'classics' - yesterday North By Northwest, tomorrow The Maltese Falcon.

Jason, seriously - 300 is brilliant... it's Frank Miller (I worship him).
But in all, this thread seems to have backfired lol. I guess I just like Michael C Hall's characters that I overlooked it's flaws ;)

That sums up my thoughts also.

Frank Miller of Sin City?
I quite enjoyed Sin City the first time round - the second time not so much - it felt like it was trying so hard to be noir. It was like the kid at school who was trying so hard to be cool that he ended up being even less cool than he was already.

I liked Sin City both times I watched it (though the second time around was some weird cut that told it in separate stories not one movie), but then again... I always thought our school Goth was the coolest thing since nsync.

It was not very good.. I'd have liked it better if it was more like super mario sort of controlling

Daggers watches Public Enemies.
Daggers is confused.
Daggers hurt himself in his confusion.
