Guns of Icarus is an upcoming mmorpg being developed by Muse games. It stands out from dozens of other mmorpg's on the market, by being centered around steampunk airship combat where players take one of 4 roles: Pilot, Gunner, Captain and Engineer. Players are able to band together and build their own ships and engage each other in the skies.
Although all classes are able to perform all the ship's tasks, there are obvious advantages for matching up the class to the role. If a pilot mans the helm, they will get massive bonuses to maneuverability and speed of the ship in addition to being able to perform stunt-like moves not available to the other classes. Engineers run around the deck repairing damage to the ship, it's weapons, and sabotaging enemy ships if you get close enough to board. The gunner gets firepower bonus' to the weapons of your ship, and is capable of using experimental weapons like a tesla cannon. The captain serves as a balance between each roles, the mario of the group, but is able to set objectives for their teammates and is the actual owner and builder of the ship your team is using.

During your travels and engagements, you find various outfits for your character. As opposed to selecting a class at the beginning of a game, you wear an outfit tailored to that specific class. For example a pilot who switches their clothing for a gunner's jacket will effectively switch roles from pilot to gunner. Naturally, each role is essential to the well being of a ship as going solo means that while you pilot, no one is manning the guns or repairing the ship. The team dynamic is a massive focus of the game.
Explaining the actual ingame gameplay of Guns of Icarus, think Team Fortress 2 as an mmorpg; focusing around steampunk airship combat. And as I said, the game is still in development; however you can gain access to the upcoming beta release by subscribing here: http://gunsoficarus.com/
Visually, it is rather underwhelming but keep in mind that it is a mmorpg with proper realtime combat, none of this click once and wait until one of you dies bullshit. If you are a graphics whore, then this probably isn't the game for you.
