Well let's just get this out of the way first.... Team USA will beat Canada (again) to take the gold medal tomorrow! That's my prediction anyway.

Any other hockey fans out there wanna put in their guess? Also, how about this crazy tournament as a whole!? Russia and Sweden knocked out in the Quarterfinals?! The Quarterfinals were rather shocking to me. Even more shocking was how Team USA destroyed Finland 6-1! Team USA has already beaten Canada in the preliminary rounds and I think we're up for it again. It's kind of crazy to think that Team USA is rank #1 after the preliminaries and that, in the Final a 1D would play a 6D team.

Exciting!

I'm a Hockey fan, and was really looking forward to catching plenty of it at the olympics, but due to various things, I haven't really had chance to see more than a couple of games.

I quite fancy Canada to up their game and avenge the early defeat, but that US team is too strong to rule out completely. Crosby needs to step up a gear or three if Canada are going to make a decent fist of it.

That was an amazing game! Team USA was a bit sour over the loss... they could have been a little bit happier with silver. Oh well it was fun to watch Canada win both womens/mens. Go Canada! :)

It's cool that Canada/USA/Finland womens/mens placed the same.

I'm a bit sour over the loss, but that's only natural. This was the same result as in 2002's Olympics matchup with Canada. We took silver then too. I know our boys really wanted to show the world that the USA is a contender in World Hockey, not just Northern Europe, Russia and Canada.

Overall I'm happy we got to the finals. Placing Silver is quite nice once you get over the initial disappointment of losing. We already proved we are more than capable of beating Canada from the Preliminaries anyway. This is why I'm glad that the Stanley Cup is a 7-game series. It really shows each team's mettle.

Regardless, it has been and will continue to be a good year for Hockey. NBC is starting to show 1 game per week, which is nice if you can pick up the major networks on HD :D Otherwise, Versus will have to settle for us here in the States that aren't willing to pay the big bucks on expensive NHL Center Ice TV.

Being second best in the world hardly disqualifies you as a "contender in World Hockey". ;]

Second place is great too, it's good to put things in perspective and consider how many teams in the Olympics won nothing, and how many never even got a chance to play.

I'm glad Canada won - though the home country always have a major advantage (crowd etc) :)

Heavy Rain?

Oddly enough, no. It's half work, and half the upgrading process on this site that's been keeping me busy.
