This one's 19, from Scotland, loves partying and playing xbox. Hates current job.
Games I'm playing at the moment are Left 4 Dead, Dead Space, GTA IV, MW2 ... and Left 4 Dead 2 at times I s'pose.
Aye ... so ... that is all I think.
Hey =)

My my, isn't our female to male ratio going through the roof. :p
Welcome very much! Enjoy the forums which we try as hard as possible to keep 100% abusive fanboy free!
Pry if I may, where do you work?
Steph
02-28-2010, 07:46 PM
Yes indeed :)
Have you ever heard of laserquest?
Where everyone gets a laser pak on and has to shoot everyone else in the arena to win.
That part is great fun, it's just the way we staff members are being treated by management is a load of BS.
Konrad

Oh god have I ever?!
I love that stuff... I haven't been to one in years though... The last time I played the game was maybe on someones fifteenth birthday? So 3-4 years ago. That's too long, I wonder if I can get some pals together and rediscover laser tag.
It's a shame to hear the employees don't get treated too kindly.
Steph

Aye you should, it is a great laugh.
=)
Our place has just started to operate a bring your own alcohol policy. I'm not too sure whether it is a good or bad thing in Scotland though. Blitzed people trying to shoot other blitzed people ... hmmm.
I especially love the art work in our arenas. The downstairs one is really creepy, it's themed off the movie Alien, it's got the APC they use (well, a model of it) and everything. Looks awesome :).
Aye, nothing much I can do about it. S'pose it happens in a lot of places.

Welcome, Steph! Glad you found us - as you've probably noticed, we've got quite a few ladies here already, but we always welcome more... you make the place look far tidier than us blokes. :p
As for 'BYOB' to laserquest, that sounds awesome. We've got a Quasar here, and me and a bunch of my brother's buddies went a few months back - it was so much fun, and alcohol would make it even better. :D
Anyway, hope you enjoy your stay here - if there's anything you want or need, feel free to poke me or any of the staff. :)
Steph

Thank you Jason =)
Ah I want a shot of laser now ...
I shall =)

Paintball > Laser tag ;)
Welcome, a Scotswoman is always better than another one of those damnable English :p
Konrad
03-01-2010, 03:58 AM
Agreed, but paintball is much more high-maintenance than jumping in a laser tag court.
MyNameDidntFit
03-01-2010, 04:04 AM
Aye, but it's infinitely more fun -- if not infinitely more expensive...
Welcome. Have you lived in Scotland your whole life?
Paintball is a blast but far to painful and messy.
Konrad

I don't know... I think it's totally worth it.

Welcome Steph :)
I use to play LaserTag 10 or so years ago - the local one use to run All-Nighters (9pm - 4am) - god they were fun

I don't know... I think it's totally worth it.
Same. The pain is what makes it good -- it means that people actually really don't want to get hit. And, well, if you do it isn't that bad. Although, last time I went my hands ended up covered in cuts and broken skin because a mate and I decided that aiming for the hands is the best way to hurt people :)
Still, with a group of friends, paintball is well worth the cost, the pain and the 'mess'.
I use to play LaserTag 10 or so years ago - the local one use to run All-Nighters (9am - 4am) - god they were fun
Heh, I presume you mean 9pm?

Ah
Don't know what you mean ;)
Yeah, I did mean PM

Ah but it hurts :(
Haha what have you got against the English?
Welcome. Have you lived in Scotland your whole life?

Yes I have.
Would like to move somewhere warmer though =/
And I agree with you on that.
Welcome Steph :)

He's Australian, so he's just bitter that we kicked him off our island about 400 years back. ;)
(you'll get used to the mild racism directed at anything remotely Australian here -it's a kind of hobby. :p)

I'm Australian; hating on the English is a prerequisite of that.
He's Australian, so he's just bitter that we kicked him off our island about 400 years back. ;)
That sentiment would hurt... but our island is vastly superior to yours :)

Superior? Nothing with spiders that big is ever superior.

They're harmless. You lot are just such pansies that when someone even nearly touches someone else in your national sport, they fall over and cry.
Anyone with at least a half a pair of balls wouldn't be afraid of our spiders -- mana bar or no.
Konrad
03-02-2010, 05:05 AM
I am terrified to death of all spiders. Health bar or no, and those might just make me unable to sleep for a week in whatever house they were found.

I'm in so much pain tonight/this morning and those pictures had me laughing my ass off there.
I needed that haha.
Spiders with health bars.
Hahahaha.
I love it.
Hate spiders though :hmpf:

See, I remember seeing a spider that big in a shower complex when I was younger at a Dam we used to waterski at.
They're harmless :P

See, Brett has balls. But then, he's Australian, so it's to be expected.
(ladies are allowed to be scared of them, it's what they do... though, the majority of Aussie women seem to have missed that memo...)

Worst is when you get those spiders in your car.. and they move so fast. I scream a lot at them.. then hit them with me shoe (while screaming).
BTW Welcome Steph.

What the fuck is wrong with you people?!!!!!! How could you possibly co exist with spiders that big?!!! I'm 150% arachnaphobic(sp), I will never, under any circumstances even visit Australia!!!!! Damn, I thought things like that only existed in Resident Evil or that old movie The Thing. You have no Idea how disturbing those images are! Do you also have those spiders that jump? I heard about those in my country, but I'm moving to Florida the day I see one!
TheNezzie
03-05-2010, 11:21 AM
Yes there are jumping spiders here.. never seen one though.
I hate spiders.. really I scream a lot at them. But they are part of living here.. so I scream, jump up and down, then deal with them.. laughing at how stupid I am screaming at something so much smaller then me. I can hardly look at the bloody things.. I def couldn't touch one.. ewwww
I do love orb spiders though.. their webs are amazing... esp golden orb spiders.

The one thing I don't get is when people say "it's more afraid of you than you are of it" - no, I don't think it is, because when I'm afraid of something, one of the things that is fairly high on my list of things NOT to do is charge straight at it, which is what most spiders seem to do when they spot someone.
Steph
03-05-2010, 08:51 PM
Haha my welcome thread turned into a discussion about spiders.
You know, I can deal with the big spiders because I know where they are ...
Can see them fine.
It's the house spiders, like just smaller than the palm of my hand sized.
If I see it then it disappears I'm freaking out all night until find and dispose of it.
I mean, if it's in my room I will not sleep until I know for sure it is gone.
Like ... what if I fall asleep and eat it?
Yuck yuck yuck.
So yeah the bigger ones are fine, I definitely won't eat them in my sleep.
And thank you Nezzie.
Konrad

Yeah... Cause they'll eat you! I guess you really can't freak out when you're dead though.

:o Do they ever!
Spiders are known for mercilessly hunting humans since the stone age.
Steph
03-06-2010, 06:52 PM
Oh my that is huge!
:O
You know I had a couple of incidents where a spider stalked me around the house.
I was running away from it and it just kept following me.
Might've been coincidental.
Maybe they were sizing me up.
:O

Nah, it doesn't look as cool as other spiders. Spiders should either be hairy like a huntsman, or covered in lovely chitin like funnel webs and shit.
That one has tried to be both and it doesn't look as nice. Like trying to be suave and bloke-y at the same time.
Jason

Or in a lifetime.
One of the two, I can never remember which.
Glad I amused ya :P

Haha well I dunno I've been told that and I read it in a book somewhere.
I just checked up on it online and it's very mixed.
People say it's just a myth but others are saying it's a fact, just dependant on variables such as where you're sleeping/if you sleep with mouth open etc.
So I'm not so sure now.
=/
Konrad
03-08-2010, 05:40 PM
Read that too. Then I read it was a myth, then I read it wasn't. There you go.
