In an interesting announcement today, Deus Ex project manager Stephane D’Astous announced that all the cinematics for the upcoming third installment in the Deus Ex franchise will be carried out by the Square Enix team in Tokyo.
Square Enix acquired Eidos Montreal earlier in the year, but it appears that this is the first project that both companies will do extensive work on.
Fans of the series will no doubt be pleased to hear this, as Square Enix are widely known for being the best practitioners of CG in the business, and it appears that the team are looking forward to the work as well:
The people in Tokyo are just so glad to work on it; this is the first project for them that’s a non-Final Fantasy title – they even want to work on Thief 4 too, so everyone is really excited.”
