Well, I just finished some epic BC2 and Steam update news told me that R.U.S.E. -- Eugen Systems' new strat game that's focussing on trickery, deceit and, well, ruses -- is going to activate a public beta on Steam as of the 10th of March.

It's available for pre-load (http://store.steampowered.com/app/33310/) right now. I'm thinking I'll check it out if I have time as the premise of R.U.S.E. tweeked my interest way back when it was first teaser'd, but wasn't something I was going to look seriously at without playing first... and here is a chance to play it first. Marvellous.

I'll preload this tonight. I have no idea if I'll be able to run it, although the concept intrigues me even if I'm not sure exactly how it's going to work.

I preloaded, the game caught my attention but I never really got excited about it. This will be a great chance to demo what's to come.

I'm pre-loading now. Perhaps we can get some MG'ers together to check out the MP?

Count me in... or am I bluffing?

BUMP.

K. So I just played a quick 30 minute game against the AI and my initial impression is thus:

OH JESUS WHAT AM I DOING?! AAHHHH WHAT IS THIS?? THEY HAVE A TANK??? AHHH WHAT DO I DO?! WHAT PURPOSE DO INFANTRY HAVE? WHY DID I BUILD A BARRACKS IF THEY HAVE A TANK BY THE TIME IT'S DONE? AHHH ARRGHH AAAHHH!!!!

...

However, once I started figuring out what I was actually doing, it started getting pretty good. It seems to be the sort of game that will be quite awesome fun when you figure out what's what to an extent that you can play effectively.
