Well. I figure it's better to discuss here rather than my thread about the DoWII update so...

I got it. It's great. It doesn't seem to have much over the original, but it's an expansion, so that's to be expected. I've played a few missions of co-op so far, but that's it (co-ordinating times with a mate who's three hours ahead -_-).

So far the first thing I see is that several of the new abilities available to squads seem... a tad overpowered. Davian Thule, the Dreadnought, for example, had [and has] an ability called "Ancient Defender" in which he powers down to repair and provides heavy cover for troops. With the expansion, he has the ability to use weapons whilst in this mode, effectively making him an invulnerable turret of death -- oh, and he has an ability to revive all nearby squads, just to up the ante.

Chaos are looking good as a race so far, and I'm enjoying seeing Eliphas (Chaos lord from DoW: Dark Crusade) again, but the thing that has me interested is that the Imperial Guard units that are in the game have much more depth than they did in the original, pointing towards an expansion including the Imperial Guard as a race in the future (fingers crossed).

Anyone else played/looking at this?

Gah, I'd so love to be able to play this game, but my laptop just won't run it at an acceptable framerate. Such a shame, as I love the WH40K universe, and I loved Company of Heroes, so this game would be just full of win for me. :(

I was never too much into DoWII, though I did enjoy the campaign this summer. I'm still planning to get back into the game, and perhaps try some proper multiplayer. I might have a reason to get this then.
