So, I have a DS that was a present and I haven't really found any games for it yet. I have Chrono Trigger which I like, but it's the same game I beat years ago on SNES. I didn't understand the ChinaTown wars version of GTA...
Any recommendations for good games to try? I have Mario Kart, and Scribblenauts which are ok.

My girlfriend has a DS and doesn't really use it. I don't really have much chance to play handheld games myself, so the DS isn't really one for me. Aside from the ones you've mentioned, the older Zelda game (The Phantom Hourglass?) I believe got fairly positive reviews (not that Spirit Tracks didn't, mind...) Other than that, the only other game I've heard people raving about is something called 'Advance Wars: Dual Strike', although I have to admit that I know very little about it.

My little brother has a DS and he loves it ...
I got addicted to Sims 2 - Castaway on it and that Brain Train thing but apart from that all I could recommend are games my little brother plays like Star Wars ... Star Wars ... Star Wars ... and uhm, did I mention Star Wars?
The tune haunts me all around my house.
=(
I played the older Zelda (Phantom) and liked it. I can only assume that the newest Zelda is as good as the last one. Advance Wars is also pretty fun. Those are the only DS games that I know of because I let my friend borrow my DS and it has been months since I used it. I think the DS got a Metroid remake that got really good reviews a few years ago. I might pick that up soon. Oh I almost forgot that I bought FFCrystal Chronicles and thought it was decent. I didn't beat it before passing my DS off but I think it has multiplayer over the internet.

I've got Ducati racing on it which is naff as hell. I did enjoy the CSI game on it though, and I've got the 42 classic games in one which helps to pass the time nicely. I would mention nintendogs - I loved them more than my real one!:p but that's not really a guy's game. Other than that I think it's another thing aimed at younger audiences..apart from the sudoku/word game...snore!I have heard that GTA China town wars is supposed to be alright though..

Oooh sonic games.... hmm that could be good. I have a feeling that this DS is hitting the Ebay world pretty soon, but the classic games could be good. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ah, the Sonic collection is pretty good. It's actually surprising how addictive the early Sonic games are - found myself swearing to nothing in particular on several occasions.
I don't know if anybody's mentioned this yet, but I was just reading Business Week and they made a list of the 50 most innovative companies (results from reader votes).
Nintendo got #20 (it was #5 last year) attributed mostly to the Wii, of course. But the blurb about them also says:
Nintendo's new plan to revive growth: a 3D version of its DS handheld player that doesn't require glasses.

Yeah, I've heard rumours about this - I have no idea how it's going to work, but they must have some kind of tech already in place, or I doubt they'd have announced it.
I think it's called the Nintendo 3DS (imaginative, huh?!)

I've been thinking about getting myself a DS. I own a PSP but all I ever play on it is the NES and GBA emulators for Mario and every pokemans gaem evar, I actually picked it up again after almost a year long hiatus because I felt like some Pokemon Yellow.
I could get all that NATIVELY on the DS. Yippe. I don't want to spend any money on it though. Sooner or later I plan to go on Craigslist and see if anyone wants to trade a shitty old PSP and a shit-ton of games, for a shitty old Nintendo DS.

Yeah, the DS is the handheld console of choice right now. If I was going to get something for gaming on the move, it'd likely be the DS over the PSP - Nintendo are as awesome at making portable gaming machines as they are average at making full-size ones.

see having the ds i'd much rather have the psp. I mean the ds is alright if you like to play mario or sonic stuff. anything that looks vaguely exciting for me always turns out to be naff..and the rest..well perhaps i would enjoy it more if I was 6. I might go all posh and get the expand your vocabulary & learn to speak french things. Perhaps I've just got playstation envy..

Yeah, I guess it's down to the individual, really. The PSP Go is a very sexy looking bit of kit, but unless you have a PS3, it's not much use.

I've pretty much decided that I'm just going to trade this thing in when I go to buy some new xbox games. It's neat, but it's just not cutting it compared to the other games I'm playin. I guess I'll just have to resort to reading when I travel... eww. :)
