Dawn of a Golden Age -- Roadrunner United

This album (Roadrunner United) is brilliant. It's an album created by taking various artists under the Roadrunner label (metal and the like, mostly) and mixing them into different groups to perform different songs. The result is a several purely awesome metal tracks along with a few that are above reasonable.

Personally, I hate live albums: live music is what it is because of the atmosphere and the feeling of being there -- you don't get that from an album, all you get is bad quality audio and background noise.

AC/DC, Silverchair, Men at Work and Jet pretty much sum up the entirety of Australia's decent music career. Ask for anything that isn't just generic-brand rock from us, though, and we got nothin' much.

But now I have found Australian Doom Metal, and it isn't bad. I'm suddenly filled with a great sense of patriotism.

I pretty much only listen to black(ened)-, goth-, doom-, and death metal, though there are a few exceptions outside this genre that I do prefer such as Beethoven. Yeah I know, quite the opposite thing. But hey, it's about the technique and emotion behind it. :)

On that note, listening to Beethoven; Moonlight Sonata. I absolute love it.

I half expecting a death metal rendition but it was very nice. One of my favorites is Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings

I love Beethoven! I can play most of Für Elise on guitar. :p
While i'm a huge fan of Moonlight Sonata, I believe the first movement is sadly the only that gets recognition, but the third is favorite.

Not my favorite interpretation, but not bad at all.

Nonseq, I'm not very familiar with Tchaikovsky's work. That's a delight piece, though. Thanks for sharing! :)

I adore so-called classical music; mostly the baroque period. Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Paganini, Bach, Palestrina, Monteverdi, Purcell, and especially Chopin. A big fan of all of them.

That said, I think perhaps some of you guys might appreciate this. :D

I pretty much only listen to black(ened)-, goth-, doom-, and death metal, though there are a few exceptions outside this genre that I do prefer such as Beethoven. Yeah I know, quite the opposite thing. But hey, it's about the technique and emotion behind it. :)
I find those four subgenres far too dark for my taste. Makes me feel like a dungeon with skeletons on the walls would be a brighter atmosphere.

On that note, I'm currently listening to Irish Boy by Mark Knopfler.

Good genres. I get them and a mix of progressive-, power-, symphonic- and folk metal. Along with a couple of others, but I only have one or two artists that dabble in them.

Their new album, The Final Frontier is... different and at first I was questioning whether it lived up to the Iron Maiden name. But after a couple of listens I love it. Amazing guitar from Gers and Murray and Dickinson's new style is quite awesome. So goddamn psyched to see them live in March.

I like. Like that a lot. I doubt it, but you might be surprised to find that a LOT of rap is like what you're listening to here... It's just a little harder to find. Speaking of rap, I've been getting in touch with an area of music that generally scared me away on principle.

Like all things that were in their prime years ago, have some Polish rap. I wonder if it will be one bit as touching if you don't understand a single word. It's about them genital disease, he does not want.
