Just got home from watching this in the 3D. I really liked it, though it is WAY watered down. It's a good time if you like watching giant scorpions eat people and such, which I DO.
Anyone else see this? Any good movies I should check out? Just watched Barton Fink for the first time on saturday, that was one bizarre flick... even for the Cohen bros. Anyone see Fanboys? It was funny.

My good lady quite wants to see Clash of The Titans, so I'll likely be seeing that at some point in the near future - it doesn't look amazing, but it's good clean brain-in-a-bucket fun, and I'm sure I'll see worse.
I've not seen much of the Cohens' stuff recently. Last one I saw was Burn After Reading, which I felt never really got going.

Meh
If it weren't 3D, I'd go see it
But since it is, I won't - no matter that Sammy is a Perth boy and I generally like his stuff - it won't drag me to a 3D movie
(Edit: And yes, I AM the 1 person on this entire planet that Hasn't seen Avatar)

nope didn't bother with avatar, I'll probably rent it at some point, or catch it on TV. I thought Burn after reading was hilarious, but I have a dark and dry sense of humor to be sure.

I've just been to the pictures tonight to see it ... or well last night since it's morning.
It is good entertainment, not much depth in it I think though.
If I make sense.
On the other movies front, I absolutely loved Shutter Island (totally never drooled over Leo, honest) but yeah, I thought it was really intense, really suspenseful and cleverly done.
But I s'pose that's just my opinion ... I really would recommend it.

I live in a small regional city so 3D movies are just plain normal movies at our cinema. As for Avatar... don't bother. I was dragged to it and... well, it's Pocahuntas with machine guns and blue people.

My favourite description of Avatar was "Dances With Smurfs".
As for Shutter Island, I enjoyed it, but saw the twist coming a mile off - I didn't get it completely right, but I was close enough...
Last film I saw was "How to Train your Dragon" with my daughter - it wasn't anything special, but it was watchable in the same way most Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks animated films are.

I don't really go for the 3D too much, but in the case of the Clash of the Titans, I think it was the saving grace. It really just wasn't all that special, but I was just interested enough, and looked cool.. enough... ya know? It's worth watching if you don't have anything else to see probably.
I was DYING to see Shutter Island, I love Scorcese movies and try to catch everything he puts out. None of my friends wanted to go, and I didn't feel like going by myself. I guess I'll just have to settle for Raging Bull for the ten thousandth time :)
