I just joined LOVEFiLM (the European equivalent of Netflix), and as is always the way, have completely forgotten about every single film I ever wanted to see.

As such, I'm looking for recommendations of films I need to see - I don't watch nearly as many films as I should, I think it's because I did film studies in college and kind of burned myself out on them.

Anyway, recommend me some decent films. Anyone recommending anything starring Julia Roberts or Matthew Mcconaughey will be banned, hunted down and/or shot.

Firefly. Best TV show ever made.

Yeah, Serenity is going on the list, which I believe is based on the series?

Yeah I thought you'd at least seen them, but I figured I'd say it anyway.

Spy Hard?
Wrongfully Accused?

Yup. I still don't understand why they canceled the show. :(

I have to say, I've never seen it, but everything I've heard about it has been positive. I'll get it on the list. :)

Oh, good shout sir. Added.

One to spring to mind is Choke (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1024715/). It's a film that differs from a lot of other movies I've seen. Although it's strange and sometimes quite bizarre, i highly recommend it.

Some people say I have a weird taste for movies, but let's see...

Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others)
German, 2006, drama.

Amores Perros (Love's a Bitch)
Mexico, 2000, drama.

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
USA/Mexico, 2005, drama.

Tropa de Elite (The Elite Squad)
Brazil, 2007, action and drama.

Old Boy
South Korea, 2003, drama and action. This one's kinda sick, though. Not many people are into it.

If you like weird films with a lot of plot twists, try Blood Simple (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086979/).
