If it makes you feel better, i've only been able to play it for about fifteen minutes so far thanks to the epicness of EA servers.

Oh yeah? Well, I got to play it after all and it's liek, really good. So much better than the beta. My main issue with the Beta was the really odd movement lag where making me feel like I was sliding around, that's gone now and the game plays great, and looks a ton better.
Those 1-hit kill grenade launchers make me sad when I'm on the receiving end though.

Apparently EA have released server stats for BFBC2, and demand was over 400% more than they expected. Yowch.

Last night I was attempting to play a round with Konrad and I think we both can agree about a few problems with BC2's UI.
- The server browser is a horrible experience right now. It takes awhile to get the list to pull up and when it does you get no ping readout. That leaves you with no way to filter by ping! That wouldn't be a problem if you could filter by location (West/Central/East US, Europe, Australia doesn't count)
- The friends tab is fairly useless. We both sent invites and didn't receive them after 6-12 hours. It also doesn't accurately show who is online/offline.
- Once you get into a game there is no way to quickly pull up the server name/ip so you can invite someone to a game. I suppose this wouldn't be a huge issue if the ^above^ complaint was fixed.
- When you tab during a game to see the scoreboard you get inaccurate ping. Again I had to use my LogiG15 readout to know if a server was going to work for me.
With a little trial and error I was able to get into some good servers last night and even when the teams were stacked against me the game was still a ton of fun. As a medic that gave me a lot more to do and as a sniper I was able to do a lot of damage to the concentrated troops at flag points. I have played medic the most but I am starting to like the sniper class more. It's incredibly fun to get a double headshot on two enemies from across the map using bullet drop. I only wish wind speed played a role horizontally to make it that much more rewarding to pull off a shot. As it is I can pull off some quick and dirty shots from pretty far away and the enemy can't figure out where I am at!
I really enjoy getting unlocks during the round. Seeing pins and levels roll by as you tear through an enemy squad is a good way to keep me interested. For example, I got sniped so once I respawned and worked my way all the way around the map I found 3 snipers, 1 medic, and 1 soldier. I stabbed one after another from the back and they didn't even hear their teammates die. Getting a badge for 5 consecutive knife kills along with their dog tags was a rush.

The friends system is, admittedly, quite useless.
However, when it all comes together it's amazing. We (Konnie, Rob and I) just finished playing for a while together, playing with the three of us in a squad was rather awesome.
And now for a big surprise: I was playing with minimal lag despite being on a US server. Running around with my F2000 and 40mm shotgun attachment I was having no problems killing my fair share of the enemy.
(PS: GOD I LOVE MY SHOTGUN ATTACHMENT.)

I think it was an east coast server... might have been central US. Either way it was awesome to know that pretty much anyone at MG should be able to link up and play this game without lag being too much of a problem. That's pretty huge for a FPS.

Even if it was like a bad joke. A Pole, an American and an Australian walk into a BC2 server...

Lame. You can't even make our joke about an Aussie, a Pom, a Pole and a Yank walking into a BC2 server...

What were you thinking? All you have to do to play BC2 with us is spend $500+ to build a decent gaming rig and buy the game on steam............. vs $60 on PS3. You're missing out. Sell a kidney and you can fix your teeth too!

true, unless you already have a gaming computer and dont forget, console gamers will have to buy the map packs whereas the PC gamers get that stuff for free. I think in the long run...console gamers lose. Just my opinion though.

I have a new crush: 88 Sniper with Red Dot.
It's awesome, because it essentially turns the Scout into an assault class with a high powered rifle. I've been playing on the front line, calling down mortars on my enemies and chucking radar balls while keeping up with all the MG and assault rifle toting classes. Plus, most people don't expect to have to put up a fight when they see a Scout up close.

I always expect a fight when I see Recons, far too many of them tote Saika 12ks for me to ever let my guard down about those bastards.

In case anyone else is as far down the rabbit hole as I am, check out this BC2 sig site so you can let everyone know how good or bad you are at the game.
